I am not sure I agree with that. This much trumpeted interest rate rate rise is unlikely to come as much of a surprise, and I would think that a .25% increase is already factored in to rhe SP. In any event I am not sure whether there will be a rise at the moment anyway....the economy is still pretty week, and the current inflation concerns are not as a result of excessive consumer spending

Thanks Sage, although as in most cases it was largely luck. I had a long chat with my daughter this morning, as she too was minded to sell although in the end didn't. She does a lot of business with EZJ and knows quite a few of the senior management quite well, and as I mentioned yesterday Christine Brown is one of her neighbours. ... My daughter says that the decision on the new CEO has been made, and is being announced publicly on 10th December!.... Which begs the question "why the delay"?

Sage, its a she - not a he!!. The COO is Christine Browne, (see Directors deals above!).... From what I understand she is pretty highly regarded within the business, and in the industry. As far as the business is concerned, her appointment would probably achieve some continuity, as she knows the business , and has also worked pretty closely with Carolyn for quite a while......therefore IMHO she probably represents a fairly save pair of hands, and what would be a seamless transfer of power from Carolyn to her. ... Maybe a lot better than a complete newbie coming in only a matter of weeks to Carolyn's departure.

Hi Sage, yes odds on for the CEO job at EZJ. My daughter knows her as they are neighbours, and my daughter told me several weeks ago that there was a fair chance that Chris Browne would be CEO

The next day, that is the 27 th October. As long as you are a registered shareholder on the 26th then you qualify for the dividend, so you can sell on or after 27/10/17 and still receive the dividend

Hi Hawkey, the dividend plus special dividend is payable on 20/11/17, to those on the Share register on 26/10/17....I would get in a couple of days before the 26rh to make sure you are registered on the ex div date

Debacle, that's an interestin strategy but do you not think that after all the recent speculation a .25% increase in the BoE base rate is already factored in to the SP of companies in this sector?

IT looks like the market has finally wakened up to the fact that this was way oversold in response to that ill timed and unnecessarily negative pronouncement by Seb James some weeks back

Thanks sage, I might hold to see if I can squeeze another 10% out of EZJ, but can't see a huge upward wove meant generally now until a new CEO is in place. I saw from one of your earlier posts that you got it not HFD at 308. I have them on my watch list and think there could be up side potential there, and of course a decent Divi in the meantime.

Sage in which direction do you see EZJ heading now?... I was thinking about selling (I got in at 942) and switching to BDEV for the Divi. I don't see any significant increase in EZJ until a new CEO is appointed, and even then it is hard to know how the market would react, although I suppose any CEO is better than no CEO!

Very cynical ploy IMHO.....and a bit of deception on the part of the BoD in respect of their earlier recent assertions

Very good post - I agree with you 100%, and in particular agree that Seb James outburst that gave rise to the sell off was wholly unnecessary and verging on the incompetent.
