Bamps has given us all the benefit of his research for years now. His current analysis, which he also shares, is the this quarter will be at the very low end of guidance and that the market will react like it did the last time it expected more. He also states that he remains fully positive overall.

So he has sold a few. Over 600k have been sold this morning, like many mornings!

I think SD has been and will be a superb CEO. I think today he made a classic ex-CFO now CEO mistake of setting the future bar where they can over deliver CFOs are allergic to “downside surprises” and they can take the risk mitigation a bit far.

I’m still very happy with GGP, the BoD and SD.

I just spoke to the Corporate Actions team at Barclays and they said they were working on it but could not give me any update on when this will be resolved. He was very apologetic, but this is pretty appalling. They "found out about the issue yesterday", maybe when they let me sell 100 "old" shares at the new money and later cancelled the trade. You might have thought that they knew this was coming and they could have planned for it.

I just sold 1,000 and it has taken them as pre-consolidation.

On Barclays, I have the new price but the unconsolidated number of shares. I'm not quite in Bezos territory, but it is a nice looking portfolio!

Keen to meet up too. Also happy to contribute to Bamps' exes as I really appreciate learning from him and others.

Just a light-hearted muse about a oft used phrase on this BB; LTH. I think we need to segment this a bit further given the fantastic journey we are all on. Here is a starter for ten.

Prehistoric holders = arrived before EG and Newmont (1)

VVLTH = arrived during the EG/Newmont (1) excitement.

VLTH = arrived on the surge to 37p

LTH = arrived with hope during the Newcrest doldrums

MTH = arrived when Newmont (2) came back on the scene

Holders = arrived on SD's deal of the century, and well done to you all.

Just for info, I arrived on Newmont's first arrival. So like others of this vintage that have held throughout, I have a healthy return right now, but also a massive paper loss from the ATH.

Hi Bamps, I think "apprehensive" is the right word for it. I am now into my 8th year as a holder and have a reasonable chunk (for me) invested. I do see some of the benefits, but it is the holding company above GGP where I get my unease. It is some time since I have seen more info on it, but I would guess it will be AUS-owned and how would decisions on Divisional management be taken in terms of costs and overheads is a question I have.

Others may have more experience of holding companies, mine (at WPP) tells me that holding company wins out vs operating company. Very happy to hear others' views of course.
