RE: If you can't use public transport to get to work then23 Mar 2020 09:42
Here is the other side of that argument: Halfords is a non essential business, as soon as there is a little more pressure from the government places like this will have to shut. We are already being told not to make non essential visits to places, for most people this is going to include Halfords. I dont see an uptake in cycling or scooters as transport, the reason is most people have just drastically lost their income, and now dont have jobs or other places to get to.
I am really gutted for Halfords, if we had not had the CV outbreak then I truly believe they were on track for a great recovery, and this will be the case one day, but not in the near future. I sold out some of my Halfords on Friday, and to be honest, I wish I had sold them all. I think in the next 4 to 6 months, Halfords prospects are very low. I would expect to be able to buy these back under a £1 when all of this is over. I value the SP after recovery at £2. In the mean time, there are some shares that are still paying a quaterly dividend, and wont be dropping (much more) if and when Halfords closes temporarily.
