Would it be too much to ask, which sources? Perhaps even for a link to be provided? So that we know it's more than 'Dave down the Dog and Duck said...'.

Could the proposal and due diligence process have got this far without institutional support? Seems unlikely to me. I suspect the BOD assumes it has the support of enough of the key players that a vote is more of a formality. Very pleased with 35p - even 30p - but would be even more pleased with more or better still some kind of bidding war. Not sure we have much longer to wait.

This is a sprawling, globally scaled business. It has 2 large divisions and nearly 2 billion in revenues.

Whilst significant its own way (offline channel, progress - hopefully depending on how it's received) this news is not material as far as the market is concerned. No point updating the market every time a THG (3 at last count I seem to remember) CEO blows his or her nose - this isn't the AIM. No doubt someone is talking about it on LinkedIn. Moreover, it's been in the offing for sometime now.

It is difficult to see this happening, unless he convinces the IIs to roll with him and they largely didn't, re Ingenuity. There is also Frasers to consider - do they want a large chunk of a private company, or their stake to be taken out for less than they paid? Unlikely. Besides, I've always had the impression that Moulding would love to stick 2 fingers up to the city by dramatically turning around the fortunes of the company - both in terms of its trajectory and of course the SP.

Also, the jury is still out on whether MM did the long suffering holders of THG a favour by demerging the cash drain that was ingenuity or whether he pulled off the steal of the century (or somewhere in the middle). Much of this is likely a question of perspective.

To me, THG seems like a company well positioned for a much brighter future. The market just hasn't quite woken up to that fact yet - or perhaps, like many here, 'it' doesn't trust MM. Time will tell which thesis wins out.
