Agree ford. When it shoots up that quick only on sentiment, it will usually pull back a bit as bots and traders take advantage of the peaks. But over the next few weeks the reality of a stable and booming travel industry will stabilise the gains. I'm very enthusiastic about the next month or two. If I manage to sell at 220 - I could clear about 10 grand profit. Has been a couple of years and a few average downs to get there though.
Wow what a day!
Shipman annoyed me to begin with, as he just continually disagrees with everyone, but I am beginning to think he is a good luck charm.
Every time he disagrees with someone and repeats his old party trick of reposting members old posts - the SP goes up! He's prancing around triumphantly quoting a post from 1975 and the SP increases by 2-3 %. His employers have their heads in their hands, while he is prancing around the courtroom quoting posts like he's just sent down OJ Simpson!
I say - keep it up! Keep telling us how the SP is decreasing and how we should get out now. My bank balance loves it!
I saw that article as well livestock. I am presuming when they say the TP is 'lifted' from 180p to 145p, that was actually a typo. Hopefully they mean it was lifted from 145p to 180p? Unless they mean 'lifted'in the sense that a shorter ( Shipman's employers ) might see a TP Decrement as a 'lift'.
If both have bumper results it would raise airlines across the board as investors and day traders alike take signals and try to get into European airlines ahead of results (such as IAG). Hoepfully good news for us. Looking forward to those dates.
Wow gavin, how committed are you to read through all my inane uniformed posts? Kinda sad that constitutes work. I've been ducking in and out of this share for about 3 years with different positions and averaged up a couple of times during the recent lows. I've taken money in and out a couple of times to pay for things but I've vastly outperformed any savings or investment accounts - isnt that the point of investing? My more recent foray is about 1.5 years old and I'm doing pretty good. Thanks for the advice, but I'm in profit by thousands so why would i listen to your suggestion that 'it's not for me' gavin? In fact it's not the first time someone on this board has used that exact phrase 'not for you' so I'm guessing it's just the same sad person keep coming back with different names.
Lol Gavin, bad weather affecting SP? That's all you have today? I have to say, as a deramper, you are startlingly ineffective. Your predecessors were at least a little entertaining /engaging and didnt need to resort to abusing the report button to get people banned.
Must be pay cuts at BlackRock/wace/kintbury.
Good luck bounce! I'm also just back into profit and hoping to ride it up to about 2.00 - 2.20 of the good news continues. If it wasn't for needing to buy a house this year, I would prefer to hold till next year and go for dividend uplift.
GavinOil are green boxes because they are just timewasting trolls.
I'm not at all surprised about the record bookings. I'm not well-off by any means but its only jan and I have interacted with airlines 3 times for various holiday and family trips already, just booked up to april. Not even the whole year.
What everyone is missing aside from covid and Putin's imperialism is that in an increasingly globalised world it is the new standard for middle and lower classes to have many foreign holidays. After the no frills airlines got popular there has been a steady increase ever since, as generations of middle and lower class families grow up and pass on the new habit of having foreign holidays. These new 'adults' live on social media and apart from gym selfies, the next most popular way to show off is to post identical holiday pics of a tacky overpriced restaurants in Dubai. Skegness and bognor-regis no longer cut it, a phenomena that has only really matured in the last ten years. Increasingly globalised families and 20 years of migration mean that the lady cleaning your office toilets probably has two or three foreign trips booked this year. There is 2- 3 year debt of tacky tok tok holiday vids and Instagram beach shots to pay back and the no frills airlines will effectively 'gap up' to catch up with the cultural shift that happened whilst the skies were closed.
Wow I looked at this only a few days ago and it was about 2%. Now only 1 large position 0.87.
Writing is well and truly on the wall for the shorters. Hence all the desperate b*llends swamping the forum getting people banned, limiting speech for legitimate contributors.
Landuhh, their outrage is feigned. The only goal is to flood message boards with negative headlines. They are not really disgruntled investors losing money.
Gavin, you are also cherry picking here. Number is down but the trend is upwards and shows no sign of slowing.
Trying for 154 now. If we stayed in this trajectory it would get to 200 by mid feb. Would be amazing but very unlikely. Then again there was a similar run in 2021 where it went from 149 to 212 in about 1month , so not out of realms of possibility.
