Vod has lost a fortune buying back it's own shares over the last few years paying way over the now sp. Many buy backs were mandatory, but still not good. But ,it is the future that counts, so lets hope the latest buy backs will be at a lower price than the future sp. . I think they will, hence my very positive stance on vod. Not the same as L.T.I. though, who lives in a pure fantasy world.

the price per share would increase with the reduction in share capital as long as there is not a reduced market valuation of the business. but there is reduced valuation of the business equal to the money spent by vod to buy back the shares. it is not rocket science, just plain common sense maths. please stop talking rubbish l.t.i. i am not against buy backs, just l.t.i. bull ****.

Rob. I used to be with H.L. because they paid me £500 to move shares from Barclays. This was before the divi tax was brought in. So I needed to put my shares in an I.S.A. to save divi tax, but H.L. charged more than I would save, so I eventually ended up with this site L.S.E. owned by Jarvis investments who charge nothing. It cost me a lot to sell my non I.S.A. shares & re buy into an I.S.A. mainly in stamp duty, but I have since saved far more in divi tax alone. Cap gains tax? not yet, but who knows.

Another good day for vod, shame it fell away a bit at the end. I topped up today & I think I was lucky to buy at 74.74 before the pm rise. Fill your boots, 80p+ ere we go.

Hello rob. If it is free to do auto re invest, you may be better off doing that way. I have to pay a min' 9.95 for each deal, so only good if you deal large amounts. Good luck mate.

80p is on the cards soon. Fill your boots before 90p on coming. Still a historical crap investment though until we get back to 1.50 plus. Happy days!

Sorry rob but I think HL are rubbish. I Left them a long time ago. Why do you auto reinvest? Take your divi & then reinvest yourself.

Unlucky. I was just thinking how rich I would be if vod was £80. I think though I am happy as I am. But £8 would do me! Not too greedy? 80p even. We can get to £1 this year at least, I think. Vod looking like a one way upward bet at the moment? Of course it could all go tits up, but I am planning to top up on Tuesday or Wednesday after waiting for a funds transfer.
