Wow, if only? I just hope you are right. Ok some of those bonds look ok, but with base rates at 0.5% some look a bit iffy? The 8% one that's now paid off, looked well dodgy? Come on Gerry, I hope you are right but I need to be convinced. The big one at 1.2% semi annually? Does that meen, 2.4 annually? But where do you get this zero rate debt from? As you probably have gathered, I am well invested in vod, & I am very bullish, but i guess I need convincing. I think vod can get a return way above 2%, but it's not a done thing!

If I could change all my buys to an average of 1.36, I would be drinking champagne, although of course still losing If your point however is 20 year old's plugged into there I phones are the wrong people to make broker ratings, then of course I agree with you (only slightly biased??) I think though, it's a said fact, that all broker ratings come with a warning, that you may lose money??!!

You of all, should have the least to complain about brokers. You correctly forecast the demise on the vod sp when it was above £2, even before the dreaded Last Call did. The high price then was propped up by brokers, so why didn't you take your own advise then, & short big time. If you had you would be laughing now. Lets face it, you have bought in a bit to early, but many bought in way to early, because they lacked your amazing foresight?!. I think you just like being a moaniman when you could be a moneyman? Only time will tell. Think positive!

Thanks, I think you highlight the problem we have, that nobody really knows what interest vod pays on its debts, so its very hard to know if they are affordable or not. 8.125% may be below the current yield, but way above the yield I get on the price I, & many others have paid. I can borrow money at less than 1/2 of 8.125%, so no wonder some are worried about vod's high deb't. Of course if a lot of the debt is closer to the 0% you mentioned then that's a different matter? So Nick Read puts out a statement regarding the share price + other issues then the share price will automatically rise? Are you for real, or just joking?

Sorry if using you as a subject is frowned upon (no I am not a troll), but reading your post about vod's borrowing's, to me the big question is how much does vod pay in A.P.R. interest on its deb't. This may be complicated, but the answer is crucial. If you can borrow at a much lower rate than you can invest at then that sounds good to me. I'm sorry if I appear lazy by not ploughing through the financial results, but I am good at maths, but hopeless at making sense of financial results. Does vod borrow at very low rates do you think, & does a moody credit rating downgrade affect these rates. Thanks, as always I am on here to learn.

Why would any sane person invest on the stock market when they think it is all rigged. Many on here have apparently done so, & then they don't stop complaining. You pay your money& you take your choice, If it goes wrong, it's your fault. Grow up you naive morons!! M.M s just Make a Market based on supply & demand, just get used to it & stop bloody moaning!?

It's bad enough seeing the vod sp fall daily , but reading H-hi's constant moaning drivel is far worse!! He needs to get a life. I blame the alternative M M's, Moaning Morons.

J.D. Good luck with your underwater longs. I don't touch that anymore, I always lose, It's like backing the horses. Not that I am doing well, but hopefully I can hold on for a recovery in the sp. Of course holding shares when the sp falls is still a loss, but you know that, you are only losing money that you have, not money you don't. Also if you have longs for a long time, it becomes more expensive than holding the actual share. As for H-hi saying this is a good share for pensioners, I'm sure many pensioners, who already hold vod shares, would strongly disagree based on recent performance. Perhaps when H-hi is a lot older, he will realise investing on the stock market is not a one way ticket to get rich quick.

A divi cut may well good for anybody who doesn't already own vod shares & want to buy, but for those who are already holding, who bought at a much higher price, it could be a disaster. What's happened to all the posters on here, who banged on about a falling sp being good, because you can buy more at a lower bargain price? That only works if the divi isn't cut. I argued at the time that it may have been a good idea to cut the the divi when the sp was around 2.30, but all I got was, it,s covered by free cash flow, & the deb't & falling sp doesn't matter. Of course I hope that advice turns out to be correct!!??
