I just checked vod short pos' 4.49% 12 in the list of London shares. Top of list Prem' oil at 12.76, Sainsbury at 7.73%. Gamestop was shorted by 120% apparently. (not sure how that works) So I think we shouldn't get too carried away with all this, as to some it has become almost an obsessional vendetta. But if it makes you feel better, listen to Fire, by Arthur Brown. May this great run continue, £2 here we go, eventually?

Smithy. Out with the old, in with the new. I can't really argue with that. I hold a large amount of vod shares, & a rise in sp is good for me. I just hope that it is driven by increased profits , reduced deb't & not just by short squeezing. I think though you will find that heavy shorting by hedge funds is a relatively new practice. Surely hedge funds were originally for hedging over weight positions as the word hedge suggests? Still,I think we both want the same thing, so good luck mate. Not sure though what you mean by Covid has helped with that(out with old, in with the new) Unless you mean It's killing off all the old folk. Scary if you do. Don'y forget to wear your mask?!

I don't know how old some of you lot are, but there seems to be a general mood for anti establishment revolution,either against the banks, government,or the large shareholders, or even those who promote the covid vaccine. Most of it is driven by social media. You all need to grow up a bit, & experience a bit more of real life, unplugged from your mobile phones.

Hi CSDI. Many happy posters on here today including me, I am however worried about the over hype about burning the evil hedge funds. We need profits, not hype. Good luck with your other investments. I still have a long way to go though, but I think I will get there eventually.

You could of course just be a pump & dump merchant, even worse than hedge fund shorters in my oppinion. Come on we are all in it for the profit, so don't give us this hypocritical c rap about burning the evil hedge fund shorters. I was planning to buy more vod shares next week, but am thinking twice now, worried that the sp will get over hyped by all this Robin Hood, anti hedge funds nonsense. Come on you lot get real, this is not the wild west. Been there, done it, Reddit!!

Smithy. Thank's for that, I don't recall asking you that, but perhaps you picked up on my post to fleccy which made no sense to me, or to him apparently. However, unless you are diving in & out of vod, a hyped up rise in the vod sp is totally useless. Not only useless, but very dangerous as it could all just swing back too far the other way. I think some of you are getting too carried away with Robin Hood & his Merry men at Reddit etc. Even if we had the power to force the sp up to £4.50, unless we all sell at that price it would be completely futile as eventually the stock would fall to a more realistic value. What we need is, for the vod sp to rise to its true value(whatever that is). I believe the GameStop short involved more than 100% of the available shares in the company, so no comparison to a voda short. At the end of the day, we all just wish we bought gamestop , bitcoin, bla,bla,bla. & made our fortune, but we didn't. So I will ask you this before ploughing too much into any stock because it's shorted, Do you feel lucky punk??

Toffappleton. If vod were to relist in Germany & the sp went up to £2 equiv' the divi yield would fall from about 6% to about 4%, so that would be bad for anyone buying at that stage. Although I would very much welcome a sp rise, As long I hold or by more, i'm not really gaining anything. What we need is an sp rise driven by increased profits, not by hype. Also a relist in Germany would involve exchange rate mark ups if you do want to buy or sell, so to me, it is a very bad idea. £2 would suit me fine though especially if the divi was increased to say 12p or 6%.

Rumour has it he still thinks he will be able to buy vod from the £1. shop. When Sir Captain Tom said he hoped to make 100, Mikey thought he was talking about the vod share price! What a wonderful Man eh.?! No not you Mikey! £33million for the N.H.S. because he was always positive. We can all learn from him, not just Mikey?

fleccy thank's for your reply, & i'm sure you own many vod shares & have a vested interest, I just wanted you to explain the figures you posted because they make absolutely no sense to me. For example,what does Capstone Global vodafone group plc GBOOBH4HK539 1.12.27/11/2019 mean. Explain please otherwise your post is surely pointless?
