It looks to me like the word is getting out on Rockrose.
A couple of my mates have got on board this week, and they in turn will be telling theirs.
We may only be making 4 or 5% per day but a couple of weeks of that makes a HUGE difference!

The same thing applies to them being in London. I am sure that there is dialogue across the pond and the MMs here would easily be able to trade the shares down over there to execute a limit fill order or three.

It would certainly explain why they walked the price down in Toronto yesterday.
I would never accuse any company of leaking news, but as the company is based in Canada as well as Trinidad, any reaction to an unintentional leak of good news in a bar in Calgary would show up first on the Toronto market.
Can only look good for us. It may have a positive impact on the Toronto opening price, and that should help to drag us up this afternoon before we close.

It doesn't come as much of a surprise that we are drifting downwards.
We only seem to get upward momentum on the release of big news.
Investors will always be tempted by the greener grass of other shares - that's what we do to maximise our returns.
Much of the market is influenced by fear of missing out, and that's where we score pretty heavily.
With each day, we get closer to the news of Cascadura, which is filled with promise imho.
The problem is that we don't have a firm idea of when the news is likely to land.
I appreciate that the art of testing oil wells is not something that can have definitive timescales, but an initial hint would certainly help the impatient masses, including me.
I appreciate that we have had some excellent news over recent weeks and it is only the fickle nature of the market that is our enemy - but that is reality.
The present value of the company is a poor reflection of where we will be in a year, but hey, that's the market, innit?

Hi there, sadly I think I was rather wide of the mark, I didn't expect them to walk the Toronto price down towards the London price. Ah well.
Very difficult to predict price movements, especially in a share like TXP where the market only seems to move upon the release of new information. I think that the price will remain fairly steady until we get an update on the Cascadura reserves and anticipated flow rate, and hope for a 10 to 20% jump at that point, which may be some weeks away.
Shares where there is a certainty of income are much easier to predict - take RRE Rockrose for example, where we know that the net income per day is circa £500,000. That is a madly priced share - the Market Capitalisation is £278 million, cash in bank is £245 million, which means that for £33 million you are buying an income stream of £175 million per annum, which is a one way bet to most people. That's why the share price was up 6.5% today and likely to make a very steady upwards progress, based on near certain income flows.
Once we know the certain incomes from TXP the market will buy into it more steadily, although this may be offset by people banking profits and selling.
The truth is, nobody knows, we all have to do our own research and act on our instincts.

The accepted code for an RNS is a 911 trade but once again anyone can play games like that so again, I'm cynical.

Very perplexing but no doubt we will see the reason before too long.
As far as testing Cashsow is concerned, I am sure that they are on it full time.

Sorry, ignore the remark about opening a penny up - that applies to TXP not RRE. TXP closed in Toronto tuppence ahead of the London price.

is that the gas turbines that generate electricity from natural gas aren't designed for it, yet. There are reports from the generating companies that adding hydrogen to the grid is causing some major problems, so it will be years before the energy grid can be changed to hydrogen. It is also far more explosive and volatile.
The same goes for household boilers - yes they can be adapted, but the boilers that we have in our homes are not suitable for use with hydrogen, but okay for a bit of a blend.
The other issue is that the calorific value of hydrogen is less and for the same volume of gas you are getting less energy, I don't suppose that they will start calculating our bills using a lower energy coefficient - it hasn't happened yet, even though we have some hydrogen in our gas.

The good thing is that the UK demand for natural gas will remain strong for many years and the hydrogen movement will not affect Rockrose, as far as I can see, at least in the short or medium term.

I think that it's worth noting that this is a company with a MCap of £260 million, and unlike Microcaps, the discussion on here is less relevant to SP movements, imho.
The thing that moved the SP on Friday was the fact that there were £2million buys and £708k sells.
This share is very much in the grip of the larger traders and small Fund Managers, who don't have the time to read our drivel, more likely to look at the market sectors and the numbers.
That's where we might get the attention of some smaller Fund Managers- except that we are relatively illuiquid, and the SP is relatively volatile - romps up with a buy of £500k and drops accordingly if they want to sell the same chunk.
However, our mid term growth potential is stellar, and I think that one or two may be dipping their toe into the water, but unlikely to breach a 3% TR1 thresh hold.
HOWEVER, once we hit the FTSE 250 - we'll need to be around a Bill MCap, the tracker funds will have to buy into us, and then we may motor, but there is a long way to go yet!
In short, munchbox, I have no objection to you spouting whatever you want - it's a free world, and it's very easy to block you if it gets too much.
What we really need is for the Board to continue doing what they are doing, and for our Brokers to start wooing the Fund Managers and the high quality Financial Journalists a bit more, perhaps they already are!

It's time someone bought John Rosier a slap up meal at Mrs Miggin's pie shop - he is already a major fan of RRE, he won't need a lot of encouragement.

Up 8.3% in Toronto.

Looks like we should have a good opening on Monday.

Market Cap £263 million
Cash in bank (net of restricted cash) $315,8 million = £241 million
Market assessment of value of income stream therefore £22 million
Production 21,000 barrels per day at a net contribution of say $30 per barrel = £480,000 per day
ie £175,200,000 per annum. but production set to rise by 6,000 barrels per day.
So, at this share price, for £22 million you get an income stream of £175 million per annum.
You would have to be an idiot to fail to realise that this is a bargain.

Looks to me like the big sellers have decided to sit on their hands and let her run for a bit.
It takes a lot of buying to get us up the risers board, but I am very happy to see a steady rise that reflects our cash generation and 2% per day for the next three months would do very nicely!

Only musing, as PMG has been dormant for such a long time. I was surprised when Colin Percival left to a small venture like Athena and could only infer that it was frustration that made him decide to leave, as he has had such a long track record with Tom Cross. PMG has spent years building its stake in the Perth/Lowlander project and I think that if it had a large injection of cash could be a big producer in a relatively short timescale. Whilst RRE is focusing on existing production rather than exploration, the market has a thirst for exploration, and PMG would add that bit of frissance to the desirability of the share, balanced with a pile of cash and more than enough income to wash its face as an acquisition.

I have followed Tom Cross and Parkmead for decades, as he has made me a few quid in the past.
The current position for PMG is MCap £54 mill, £30 mill in cash and an income stream (from gas) of £9 mill a year.
They are sitting on a huge chunk of oil with the Perth/Lowlander project, and I note from their accounts that there are no figures at all for the projected amounts of oil in the ground. PMG lost Colin Percival, oil finder extraordinaire last year and I wonder of Tom Cross is ready to chuck the towel in. He has a large interest in the company, to avoid a hostile takeover, but the timing may now be right.
I cut my losses in PMG some time ago, but wondered what this board reckons to it being a good target for RRE?

I think that Coho-1 is just to the North of Carapal Ridge and there appear to be a couple of gas pipelines, as previously stated by Paul Baay.
There is a zoom facility at the bottom right of the map.
Negotiating wayleaves is the first stage, and unless there are statutory powers to lay these pipelines (which there may be) can be tedious, and take some time. The fact that Heritage Oil (Trinidad Government) has 20% free carry should help!
Then there is pipeline design and tendering the contract, which again doesn't happen overnight.
We will also have to negotiate a deal with Shell on the cotract to liquefy the gas - which should be straightforward, as Shell will want to maximise the profit from their facility which is currently running below capacity.
The fact that the plant is already there is a huge time and cost saving, and means that this is a fast-track route to market.
Paul has stated first half of 2020 for production, from which I infer that they have already done a lot of this as due diligence prior to drilling. There would be little point in finding a massive amount of gas to then find you can't access the pipeline network, so I hope that a lot of contingent agreements are already in place.
Very exciting times, and the oil results should start coming through in the next month or so.
It is a shame that we don't have anyone on Trinidad to spy on Cascadura, as the evidence of oil tankers leaving the site would be excellent!
I quite fancy a trip to Trinidad.............
