Yes Mark, they would have to make an offer. It will be interesting to see if Tinkler sell his remaining shares, I still believe there has been someone buying whilst this selling has been taking place.

Certainly a plausible theory. I've heard a few comments from within the industry regarding WS having a master plan for ESL but not sure I'm buying it. WS son owns WS transport and he own Explore Haulage, surely keeping ESL on the road would be a conflict of interest? I've also heard that WS may try and roll ESL into WS Transport, all hearsay but something to consider.

Would have access to that kind of cash TruthFactory? STOB is currently valued at 180m alone.

Throw into the mix that Tinkler only bought in to get his bid in and Invesco are pretty much skint.

Pione3r - I'm alarmed at the fact that you've invested in a company whilst have no understanding of why the II are selling out? Surely this is the first thing an investor does, especially considering the amount of shares sold, unless of course you're not invested.

Andy, as I explained earlier it depends on the contract. Put it this way in all my years in logistics I don't ever recall getting a rebate when the oil price dropped other than through paying a fuel surcharge. If the company operates a fuel surcharge then that will decrease however TPN don't and therefore any price rises are swallowed by the haulier until the contract is renewed, in the event of a price drop the haulier get's the benefit.

Mcadder is spot on. This is temporary and whilst there will be some downturn through the virus things will recover however the oil price may not for a while yet, this would be the perfect scenerio for the likes of ESL. Those that think it will recover as the virus slows down are wrong, the oil price scenerio although initiated from the virus is a different issue altogether.

I agree with that but to come on here and suggest that low oil prices are no benefit to halauge companies is quite frankly insulting. Lower prices are a resulting of falling global damand, in this case to the virus.

All depends on the contracts they have in place but considering the vast majority (if not all members) work on a 0% surcharge then I would certainly say so.

That well may be true, however the TPN do not charge an additional fuel surcharge and that cost is calculated as part their rates (normally held for a year). If fuel goes up so do their rates however if fuel comes down guess what, the price remains the same. I have been a TPN customer for the last few years. Other Networks however work differently.

The TPN network has grown considerably over the last few years and has excellent performance, the best network in the country imo. I'm not sure how the virus will impact their workload but it terms of storage my guess is their facilities will be maxed out, which is easy money. Let's not forget that the last set of results were ended 6 months ago and a lot has happened since then. WS has been brought back on board to spin this around and he will.

Absolutely! Margains in haulage are single digits so a reduction in thier main cost will go to the bottom line. Let's not forget that vast majority of warehouses are at full capacity due to stockpiling for brexit. I've worked in procurement and logistics for the last 20 years and never seen storage facilities so full. I pretty close to the TPN network and can say for a fact that it's DBAYS intention to repair this business and sell it off within 5 years.

From looking at woodfromthetrees posting history he's he either shockingly bad at this investing game with a habit of picking dogs or he is short. Now I don't think anyone would be daft enough to talk down their own investments (assuming that's why he spends so much time posting on such boards) so I guess it's the latter.

Lol Aurthur you are full of it. In fact you remind me of Sheldon another bitter PI. This has not even got started, yet you are playing the "I told you so" card. There is always going to be money to be made trading this but you take a risk holding. What makes you think this will fail? I'm pretty sure the likes of Nick Lee knows more than you and me.
