Wolf, there is no logic to your theory. If they were betting on a longer term issue they would let the price rise and attack it from a higher SP not try and beat it down in the 120's. To me their activity smacks of a f*ck up.

Excellent post Rich! There is too much focus and wasted energy trying to second guess Marshall Wace, this is the only weapon the shorters have and they will try and draw your attention to them at every opportunity. Some of us are not that naïve to know that they will also be posting on here or at least reading this board. So the next time you see "why have they increased" or "what do they know" just think who gives a s*it. Just remember other funds have reduced and some have closed all together (all bigger than MW). If it was that obvious what was going happen here do you think they would have closed? Remember, the shorts want you to question what MW know. This is my last post on the matter.

Blindingly obvious they had increased and probably again today but it isn't working out for them. The more they increase the more the sp continues to rise, so who's buying? Happy to watch them and anyone else burn in 2022.

I've been investing for 15+ years and I can count on one had the number of people that have offered help without motive. Let's be honest, folk do very little for no reward these days and so you posting on Xmas day to "help others" is absolute BS unless you have a vested interest. There is nobody posting on this board that is not invested one way or the other.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, they probably expected it to go a lot lower. We've seen others close out/reduce so why haven't Wace? The question they want us to be asking!

MW will be desperate to get this down towards £1 to start closing, we've seen them aggressively increase whilst the price has risen in order to stop momentum. Even though they are well in profit they will not want to be closing their short at this price as it will inflate the sp as they start to buy back. We may see them throw the kitchen sink at this and increase to 5%, if they have done that today then they're in trouble. At the end of the day MW are well capable of looking after themselves, the small timers however should be looking over their shoulder. Can anybody smell something burning?

danl90 you make a lot of assumptions which you write as fact, for example "nobody is buying". Rather than trying to spin these assumptions into negative statements you should pay attention as to what is happening to the SP, because whilst you sit there trying to spread negativity the SP is rising. I'm all for debate but I can see through Bulls*it.

Peoplepower - how do you know nobody is buying? We're in a peak season and people just don't buy clothes for "going to coffee shops" they buy for gifts online instead of heading out to the high street. It's been a nightmare for the last two years for retailers having to predict sales and purchase accordingly hoping that this ****eshow of a Government don't pull the rug on summer travel. Does a bit of excess stock bother me... no.

I'm not worried at all about the freight situation, my background is Global Logistics so I know more than most about the situation and how/when it will resolve. I'm not sure what you expect the Managment to do about the lack of capacity and increased rates, every single business in this country that import/exports is dealing with substantial increased costs and there is nothing anybody can do about it, if a business doesn't want to pay the asking price for space, someone else will. The current rates are not sustainable and will decrease, pressure if already been put onto shipping lines to get empty containers back into the Far East. Things are already happening, things you won't see. My prediction is a substantial improvement in H2 next year.

That's spot on! I've been watching the book for days and the selling seems to start after 2pm and becoming more aggressive after 4pm, just in time for close. It's all about maintaining a downtrend and fear.

Imagine how Colin feels, his average should be around 1.60 - 1.70p. He'll be down 300-400k.
