MF2017 - Have you bothered to add up the sells over the last two days? There have been over 800m in large trades and you think this is just PI selling out because it's going to be quiet. Two options here imo, 1. Placing 2. II in which case we are due a TR1. This is coming from a long term holder.

Hardly sounds like a BOD who are fleecing the company coffers! There are a lot of remarks on here about the history and shady dealings of the BOD, perhaps someone can enlighten us all of these "dealings". If this is factual information then you will have no problem posting, however if nobody wishes to post then it can be all regarded as tittle-tattle.

This has to be the post of the month, the worst that is. Sales are up, new stores are opening and they expect to make 83m although this will be impacted by Covid. I suggest anybody thinking of investing here at least have a look at the last trading update, PFen clearly hasn't.

Cheers Paul. Yes agree we should take these web stats with a sprinkle of salt but the trend is certainly positive. The company have done very well get this to 80% digital, I feel the online momentum will continue for several months. From what I've seen/heard 1 in 2 of us will still avoid going into towns/ shopping centers once non essential businesses start to open. There's lots of conflicting info in the press with regards to numbers but the general consensus is that fashion is down by roughly 25%. There will be some huge reductions come July/August.

Have a look at www.similarweb.com. Stick in the JD Williams website address and look at the traffic throughout April. The landing page "myHermes" suggests that customer checked out, this is up by 700%.

The initial drop would be largely down to uncertainly and people not going. The last trading update was 23rd March, the Furlough scheme had only just started (19th) but the virus was pretty well established across Europe, at this point buying home wares/Clothes for summer holidays would have been the last thing on people priority list. Boredom quickly kicked in and folk realised that the furlough would be around for a while hence the sharp increase in building materials and home wares. You would expect clothing sales to fall but from what i've seen it appears other online clothing retailers are stacked out. Z-Cars this is very interesting particularly the shop stock being sold off, this may explain why there has been a sharp increase in web traffic through Hot UK Deals.

Agree MC! I'm also invested in the Works and they've just announced a 81% increase in online sales. It's hard to know exactly what is going on behind the scenes and the longer the company stays quiet the more anxious investors become but the Web analytics are a very good indicator of site traffic. The last trading update has offered us a great opportunity, the 40% decline in sales scared a lot of LTH and new investors, this is generally inline with what other retailers were reporting and they have since seen a huge spike in sales. Interestingly there has been 755% increase in website traffic to JD Williams going through UK hot Deals. You will very well with a 21p average.

I think they're far from fked and believe the results will surprise. The company are 80% digital so go and take a look at the web analytics over the last 3 months. Checkout hits are up 300% for both JD WIlliams and Simplybe but don't take my word for it, go have a look. I work in Procurement and Logistics and I can tell you for a fact that couriers are experiencing double Xmas trading volumes, mainly homewares.

Who says they are losing money everyday? The co is 80% digital and we all know what has happened to online sales over the last 6 weeks, even clothing. Look around at the likes of TK maxx, ASOS, they're restricting the amount of daily orders so they can manage demand. I also suspect JD Williams is doing very well. Most companies are taking advantage of the result postings extensions.

Mark - Re WS buying ESL, this would certainly explain what I've been told (happy to share emails) but suspect shareholders could well be shafted as a result.

I have been told by someone who is very close to WS that he has a 5 year plan to turn the business around and sell, making him a nice profit. Make of that what you will, I don't know what to make if it other than knowing that this information is 100% accurate. How he intends to pull it off I have no idea but he is certainly playing a major part in this.

The sp was capped because those that understood the situation we aware of a highly likely fundraise, as advised in November. Nobody knows they were doing work at cost price during Covid, including you. We are well aware that the business was in a mess but like any other stock PI invest in the hope of a turnaround. Please tell me what has changed since November?

This is no different to any other cash shell Mark, I have been in many. Certain individuals are trying to make this an exception, it's no different.

Truth, the writing was on the wall in November. They clearly stated that they were looking to raise cash by the end of May, yet the sp had remained stable and we've seen buyers take sizeable amounts including those two 300k trades yesterday afternoon. Yet, they announce a 6 month extension and you state "those that understand the RNS" will be running for the hills. Pull the other one.

Add to that list the missing Morrisons contract (that we know they have) + a strong reluctance to engage with SH through podcasts etc. It almost looks like sabotage
