RE: GWMO JUNE 1711 Sep 2020 02:48
As I recall they had raised £3m to fund exploration, which was regarded at the time as a more than useful some of money to fund future works. A Jorc was released which showed promising copper grades, but was later adjusted as it contained inaccuracies that made the original report look too optimistic.
After that, a series of mistakes were made, such as drilling rigs that weren't strong enough to drive through the rock, and, well, the money was spent with no progress being reported.
At that time, GWMO was concentrating on finding copper, and the focus was on proving up the resource then selling it on. There was never any intention of GWMO becoming a producer and talks had taken place with RTZ, though not in any meaningful way other than 'Yes, if you find it, we'll have a think about it'.
Traces of gold, silver, and other elements were found, but they weren't really noticed as the emphasis was on copper. Fast forward, and gold is now the focus, with the copper, which it has to be said is there and in potentially decent grades, lurking in the background.
The share price fell because GWMO wasted £3m. They never released any positive news after the retracted Jorc.
