Thank you after some confusion with my shares the dividend was eventually paid in full with no tax deducted . And my BME shares which are based in Luxembourg have had the 15% withholding tax deducted . Thank you for your reply nice to have help and guidance on this matter .. As Inflation has dropped to around 2.3% the dividends from Dunelm are starting to look good at around 4% . Good luck with your investments

Shares in tobacco giants British American Tobacco PLC (LSE:BATS) and Imperial Brands PLC (LSE:IMB) fell on news that vaping and cigarettes could be hit with new taxes in the UK.

Prime minister Rishi Sunak and chancellor Jeremy Hunt are mulling introducing a new tax on vapes at next Wednesday's Budget, according to media reports.

I think the BP shares are going to be trading at a discount to SHELL until the deep water horizon payments have finished as BP have one hand tied behind their back . I normally buy BP shares at anything £4.70 and sell above this range.

Russian President Vladimir Putin gave approval on Monday for HSBC to sell its Russian unit to privately-owned Expobank, according to a government decree.

HSBC said in June 2022 that it had agreed to sell a 100 per cent stake in the unit, HSBC Bank (RR), to Expobank.

Moscow has steadily tightened restrictions on foreign asset sales since then, with banks requiring Putin's approval for any deal.

Thanks Taverham looked in to it further and Dunelm is Luxembourg based so is subject to 15% with holding tax even in an ISA . looks like a new tax law with Luxembourg comes in to effect in April 2024 which might change this hopefully ...

Thanks for your tips obviously this is all speculation but It makes an interesting side line from my normal investments . And a bit of fun and maybe a bit of money to top up my main holdings . Doc is a good one to hold as pays a good dividend as well.... Just added Marstons (MARS) to the list

Investors will receive 450p a share, a 52% premium to Thursday's close. However, this equates to an EBITDA multiple of 6.8 times, implying Ceva isn't exactly overpaying. Will we get a higher bid???? Around 10p off the offer price at the moment is it worth a top up??
