I invest in shares with a good track record of paying a good dividend . This shares has been a very steady income share for a long while , sure there are headwinds ,China scandal , new drugs to come in the research +development pipeline . But in the next 6 months tell me where you will get a better income stream .Oct 19p Jan 19p Apr 23p and special dividend of 20p as well so in 6 months thats 81p easy decision for for me I always buy strong companies and hold for the long term as in the case of gsk

santander pay a div every 3 months the next div payment will be around 11th of aug you must hold the shares on the record date to receive this the record date will be around start of july last record date was about the 13th hope this helps dont get too sucked in with the div on this share the share price is very up and down at the mo if you get a chance to sell these shares and make a few pounds good enough for me !!!!!!! lol

yes you can sell them now record date was 13th jan if you held them then you will get the dividend for what its worth going to sell at around 5.20 climbing again today any greek news should give a little more of a rise then time to jump ship

writing down spanish property cuts profits still a good strong bank with fingers in more countries than just spain expect a smal rise once results have been examined more closely (14% of uk mortgages etc etc ) this is called a kithen sink clean up to please the spanish goverment will get ready to jump ship when the time is right around £5.20 ish me thinks
