It is impossible to say whether the Sojitz acquisition was 'priced in' or not. It is likely that a proportion of those invested considered it a done deal and may have acted accordingly but these things are rarely black and white. I suspect that the Vanadium price rise since the beginning of September was not priced in or at least not as much. Certainly people have been investing in anticipation of a rise but I believe the rapidity of that rise has caught everyone by surprise. It certainly has me - I was expecting $100/kg+ next year as the deficit brought about/increased by the Chinese rebar standards revision started to bite hard. I can't see how such a thing was priced in and I suspect that the BMN share price has suffered compared to where it might have been by the strike and by the persistent large scale selling that has been ongoing. As these are temporary things, the market should move forwards now that the strike has finished, especially once the selling has curtailed somewhat (it will never stop and it would be great if people could stop asking things like 'why would anyone sell now?').

This is all known and has been for some time. It just seems to be a marketing document for a very small US Vanadium deposit.

Charts tend to get trumped by the sort of news that N4P had. Share prices are sentiment driven but sentiment certainly has a relationship to fundamentals and they just got nuked.

It's quite old and their numbers are all over the place but it does give a good view of the market drivers even if it is primarily a marketing piece for a specific company.

Jason is a non-exec director in a company that is investing in projects, with Vanadium being one of their targets. His trip to SA was to look at potential investments so we don't know yet whether these are just marketing efforts to benefit from the Vanadium buzz or real projects that may ultimately come to something. I will be interested to see whether he can find something real and, if so, how much these are commanding given the soaring Vanadium price. There will come a point where there are no bargains out there

What do you make of the disconnect for Vanadium prices in the US? A few months ago they were at a premium. Now according to figures recently they are at a significant discount. Surely that situation can't last.

How did you manage that? I haven't seen a buy below 26p for 45 minutes.

Severe pressure on the share price now. Let's hope that the strike really is off, the overhead can be cleared and the rising Vanadium price can be reflected in the share price. Finally.

Another 250k makes 1.4m reported in a 15 minute period. One suspects that the delayed trades that pop up later may well be buys.

Are being reported in real time and no longer delayed - 500k, 450k and 200k trades have all been reported immediately. Which means that they want the market to know that there is selling. Which suggests that the buying is strong currently.

Anyone who would like to see what effect a maiden dividend announcement can have on a share should look at AAZ. They have declared an interim 3c (2.25p) which was a yield of 5% in the run up to the announcement. This resulted in about a 33% increase in the share price. A similar yield here would be about 1.25p per share and would cost about £14m.

Late reported trades appear to be the norm this days. Perhaps soon we will be discussing the relatively rare event of a trade being reported when it took place.

An additional requirement for between 16,500 and 24,300 tonnes Vanadium will cause havoc in the market. I have to assume that steel producers are already starting to produce to this standard which is the reason for the current market conditions. If not then the Vanadium price is at the start of a parabolic move and I have no idea where it will end. I do know that it will create a shock through the whole Vanadium ecosystem.

Good grief! Vanadium is going up 10-20% a week currently and I am struggling to see what is going to prevent it from continuing for some time to come. Steel has to be produced but I suspect that sourcing electrolyte is going to become borderline impossible in the short term. Unless China goes back on its environmental controls (and what a message that would be), the only thing that I can see will stop the ascent currently is a slow down in demand as the supply just isn't there and won't be in significant amounts for years. Can the Vanadium tail wag the steel dog?

When the strike ends (and I find it ridiculous that it is still ongoing) the Vanadium price, if it continues with its vertiginous rise, should be enough to shift the share price much higher.

I have absolutely no doubt that it will be challenged in court.
