Shorting the FTSE 100 in the run up to Christmas is an interesting one. Anyone who invests in the markets will recognise the concept of a 'Christmas rally' as this period is traditionally associated with share price rises as everyone gets warm and fuzzy. If the pound falls that may even exacerbate the situation for the FTSE 100 as the constituents derive a significant amount of their earnings from overseas (The FTSE 250 would be a better candidate).

I was reading an article about fusion the other day. Apparently there are some start ups who reckon it will be up and running in 5 years (rather than the rolling 30 years). Now, I have no idea what the 5 years actually refers to- cracking the issue, commercialisation, designing a pretty box for it, but I have some experience in technology companies. Even if they have 'cracked the code' it will take longer than 5 years to commercialise the product did I suspect that renewables with storage have run runway for now.

I tend to agree with Alfacomp. Warrants tend to get pre-sold in my experience.

You are not going by whether the transactions are red or blue on this site are you? If you are then you are being misled. Most of these transactions are buys. You need to look at the transaction price, the time it was carried out and the trades around it to get a better understanding of whether they are buys or sells.

I think that we have had several 1 trades in the last couple of days, so on a statistical sample of one (which, as we all know, is valid) we should be getting a few more RNSs in the next day or so.

I think that BE new, to be explosive, would have to include genuine substance related to sales i.e. details of the PV customer they alluded to in the webinar or some other snippet that was related to revenue generation. A model will not be sufficient to be classified as 'explosive' unless it is fully formed with serious finance partners and sales networks.

A dividend policy announcement, on the other hand, could be genuinely and immediately impactful.

Strong buying today. Another pop at 50p looks imminent. I wonder whether it is going to be as contemptuous of 50p as it was with 30p and 40p?

Shares only go up, don't they? 1. 80p 2. £2.50 3. £10bn* * I am predicting hyperinflation within the next 10 years. :-)

On a day of chaos and the world seemingly coming to an end (if you equate the Conservative party to the world of course), that is the saddest thing I have heard today. I was looking forward to a bizarre closing UT.

So what is the UT today? 2p? £2?

I hope not. I am not a fan of them.

The trading seems to be degenerating into weirdness.

Well, my lowest buy in BMN was 1.3p but they were really bad times for the share price.

I am not sure that AAU can do a BMN unless gold does a Vanadium (it has gone up 900% over the last 2 years). BMN's rise was built on it buying a producing asset at the bottom of the cycle for relatively little. It is now producing two or three times as much cash in a month than it paid for it. A phenomenal deal.

But whilst I don't think AAU will quite do a BMN it has the potential to do very well in a supportive gold environment. Gold stocks tend to perform exceptionally on rising gold prices - better than any other mining niche that I am aware of, usually because it is 'last man standing' time!

Or to be more topical, how about we've nicely ended up with the worst Brexit deal envisaged?

Of particular interest on this list for me are:

Dividend policy
Mokopane licence
Brownfield

All of these will be immediately transformational. Mokopane I would anticipate to come as part of a batch - I am pretty convinced that there are a number of activities lines up awaiting this decision.

Not that the others are not important or even transformational in their own right, I just suspect that the three mentioned will result in a considerable increase in interest.

Very upbeat interview. Good to hear that:

- October was the best month of the year
- Throughput has been increased
- Exploration budget is looking to rise next year
- Singida is developing (update in December on potential operation) although the initial operation will be small
- Relations with the government remain good

It is clear that he is confident of beating the revised guidelines for the year which should have a positive impact on finances (i.e. debt).

I suspect that four words would transform the share price - VAT HAS BEEN REFUNDED. Until that happens the market will continue to believe that the performance of the company is irrelevant as the Tanzanian government is not to be trusted.

Ah yes. Shows how good my observational skills are as I was looking for it as well and still missed it. Small trade as well.
