I guess for them owning nuc and the west believing they would use it, would be a strong deterent to isreal and the likes... If Iran did use nucs, they would be second to the US who flattened huge civilian populations..

Its scarey stuff, Iranian nut jobs persecuted through sanctions by the west, who also frequently bomb them however justified....

Its a vicious circle, its likely Isreal have such strong US support because they keep the balance of power in order..
