The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
I was actually just sounding off in my last post - but it is worrying its tanking so quickly! The divestment was meant to settle the share price - and energy investment was meant to favour the likes of Wood Group.
Seems to be priced that they have already lost that law suit, and they will never win a profitable contract every again lol
I have a £3 average so no point me selling now - I am in for long haul! :D
This is bust . **** off Wood Group. Grrrrr....
And there it is! More than halved since May with the sale money in the bank! What on earth is going on!? Christ I know the markets are in turmoil at the moment, but good grief I didnt see it this low!
Something stinks with this one. Another share certificate for the time capsule - "do not open until 2050"
I know what you mean! I haven't sold out, I am hanging in there - but the market is behaving like this and PFC are going bust and I am starting to think they might be right!!!!
and still heading south. Blimey what is wrong with this bloody share. All is see in the media is energy this, energy that - need to heavily invest etc etc! Wood group should be flying!
Agreed. Seems to be 3%-5% falls every day.
With all these legacy costs, the money from the divestment could be mostly used up in paying off law suits , asbestos claims and various other **** ups!!
..... and halved the share price lol What a strategy! :D
Useless!!!!!
More debt, less cash flow, less revenue, less profit, less margin %, less EPS, 59m of the 89m profit is coming from the part of the business being sold.
Only 5% larger order book when energy prices are at mental levels.
SP will be hard south!!!
I dread to think!
Spot on , I have to agree. I might hang on a couple months longer than October, but as you say if there is no signs of large contract wins or several moderate size contract wins - this company is simply going to run out of cash and/or have to dilute the shares even more to raise cash.
Wood group net of the divestment I will stick with , as they will be more or less debt free.
I do wonder what scenario the market is pricing in here? (and PFC). It seems all oilers are getting a battering, despite forecasts that the energy market to remain tight and vast amount of investments required both for O&G and green energy.
Market seem to be pricing in the opposite, eg recession causing some sort of collapse in prices and therefore no investment for WG/ PFC etc? Or, are they sceptical that Wood can make money on the contracts they are winning? They are growing their order book, yet the SP continues to plunge!
Testing patience this one!
Is there a chance the divestment has fallen through? Or is 100% in the bag?
Yes I was thinking the same! Totally baffling. There doesn't seem to be much on the short interest tracker either , if the big boys know something, I would be expecting to see more short positions above 0.5% on there.
I am in the same boat - going to have to wait it out!
Minus 3% to minus 6% every day it feels like, this one does test your resolve!
£3.29 average feels a long way away now, another share certificate for the time capsule! Re open in 2130! :D
If there is another SFO case lurking or accounting scandal , Im going to lose my mind lol :D
Good Grief, what on earth is going on ?? Market cap of entire business is worth $600m less than the 25% of the business they are selling ! Work that one out!! ?
I have to admit i am shocked to see this down here again after the divestment. Worrying to see such a price collapse (again) in a market where oil/gas is very high and the focus on the required energy investment required for green projects, maintain current oil/gas supplies globally and to secure non Russian sources of energy.
I fear for WG and PFC!!
total company market cap is $1.58bn, so the rest of the business is valued at minus $220m? I think my calculator must be broken lol
