Heading for 52 week low today. 2025? Nope - it's going to take longer than that for this one to recover. At this rate another takeover attempt perhaps and at a lower price Ethan the last two?
No lasting sunshine to make hay. 2025??????
I think they would be better at making hay. They should buy some farmland.
I've been watching Wood for a while and was out when they t/o spike happened. Did not think I would get an entry this cheap ever again. My thesis is similar to Sparta. On a peer to peer valuation basis this is way undervalued and it's in a growth sector. If UK government are intent on slamming north sea oil and laying out the epl via the green energy fund players like Wood stand to benefit. China is also massively building out green infrastructure so I really do think the market is ripe for Wood Group to finally grow and make hay again.
They have been turning around for years and look where it’s got them. The last two suitors walked away as they couldn’t see 240p - I know what the reason stated for no deal were but I don’t believe them. Shareholders have a right to feel they have got a bad deal here. If your time horizon is +5 years then you may get a decent payback but still believe better place for money
If they can continue to turn things around here, the share price should eventually start picking back up. Margins and EBITDA has been improving. The sale of those subsidiaries should bolster the balance sheet. Focussing on their core business seems like the right strategy, "diworsification" comes to mind when looking at this company's past.
Jefferies cuts John Wood Group price target to 190 (230) pence - 'buy'
I'll take 190p, thanks
Following the money here means get out! This is dreadful performance
Broker targets being cut
Shorts increasing
I’m sure MaryBr will be buying but I’d keep well out of this one - much better places for cash with much less risk
Chairman Fees taken as shares I suggest and £2 soon - really !!!!!!
ROSALYN FRANKLIN
37000
132.844
£2 soon
So price will go up (probably) but also could go down..or up a bit more. Thanks for the insight.
Values of this sort normally rate to payments in lieu of fees so really can’t get excited about them.
Yesterday you said it was going to reach the highs of 140
Looks like a revisit to the lows on any market sell off back to 118p and then bet the house again.
Fair point , which I think illustrates how fragmented and disjointed the business had become, with too many ventures while failing to keep tight control of the core business. The recent presentation's emphasis on running the main strands of the business in a way that ensures profits, seems obvious but clearly hasn't been happening. The emphasis on revenue , NOT profit was patently flawed and management (at least in the finance div) seems to have got the message. I hold after selling out during the last takeover saga. I am willing to wait, maybe even a year or two to see if current management can make this technically competent business run profitably.
It's amazing that the non-core businesses they sold for a pittance actually made up about 10% of their adjusted EBITDA.
It doesn't say anything good about the margins or implied valuation of the core franchise .
This deal was announced by the "Chief Strategy Officer". Why the hell do they need that? What does the CEO do?
All IMHO DYOR
Happy
Reclaiming 140p soon - add trim to win.
Will see sub 130p and perhaps above 150p in the current range.

Wood announces the disposal of a couple of components of the business for $165 in cash and loan notes, at a P/E of approx. 5 , which given that the whole co. is P/E negative at the moment is not bad. Another small step in the streamlining/rationalisation process. A small positive step, SP reaction likely to be muted but positive?
Wood announces progress on its strategic disposal programme with the sales of EthosEnergy and CEC Controls for around $165M
Good or Bad?!
Add all the way down in my MO here.
I'm not adding anything at any level on this one. I have a small holding which I will keep just for the hell of it but its back doing what it did before the Apollo and Sidara offers and their update earlier this week - dropping.
I did think the new CFO did a good job on the call/webcast but there are many better place for my cash at the moment. It may come good but it's going to take a long long time. Im at a stage where dividends are becoming my goal. This is a rank outsider
Yeah, It may have dropped to £1. ....!!!!
In 6 months time these prices will no longer be available.
