I think the value here is now surely we're a takeover target. First Group waiting in the wings!! Although I bought back in yesterday I'm watching the current SP very closely.
Bought back in average 545, I will see if I were too hasty or not. Good luck All!!
Catching a falling knife!!
I guess it's at what point is it worth investing back in on risk v reward? A great company let's hope it turns around!!
Sorry should have said sold out here with a 5k loss.
I've taken a 5k loss on my recent investment and stuck it across EZJ, IAG, CINE and RR which have all dropped too. Once these all pick up, looking to buy back here when price stabilises, are we at the bottom or further to drop, what's people's thoughts?
Just bought in here got spiked at 199, but believe this could be an interesting investment, in with 10k. We will see what happens but company fundermentals look good.
New in here at 51, hoping I got in at a good time ready for a decent recovery. Anyone got any views on where they see the SP by end of March assuming no new curb balls?
You have a great average Expert at 146, my average is 170 but many here a lot higher unfortunately. Assuming the early news on Omicron is correct and the effects of it are less compared to the Delta variant, we just need to keep going and get not just ourselves but all the works countries vaccinated. I remain confident of a decent recovery but have sold off some and put into other stocks such as WIZZ, EZJ and RR to spread the risk a little. I personally think 2022 will be similar to 2021 from a covid perspective and it will be 2023 where we have a return to some type of normality. It's going to take time, but I gave no doubt IAG will once again become a large money making machine.
It's too volatile at the moment, I personally thought 200 by year end on basis no new curve balls and along comes Omnicron. Until alot of the poorer countries increase the level of population that are vaccinated then risks of further variants is high. The next couple of weeks will be telling with affects of Omnicron further understood. If the effectiveness isn't as good, then potentially SP down and perhaps risk of RI, alot depends if more countries lockdown. If there are no further large lockdowns hopefully we can get to spring with people outside more and virus spreading less. A turbulent time until then.
Great post Mark and like you I also used to work for BA. I think the trimmings in cost and getting Gatwick profitable will be key, as long as no further lockdowns and the US stays open, I think IAG will do very well indeed. Its going to take time, but it will be worth it easily double if not triple the current SP. Alot of people keeping saying that business class won't return to previous levels. I think people forget alit of people still like to travel business class. When I ask two of my friends now retired on final salary Pensions they said they have one holiday a year and only travel business class. So personally with an improved product being increasingly rolled out, business class numbers will return. It will be interesting to see what happens next summer, with more fuel efficient aircraft, club world suite on all 7777 by end of next year and trimmed and more efficient workforce, I wouldn't bet against IAG being very successful and back towards 250 mark. We will see GL All!!
I'm seriously down here, however decisive action needed. Will take a few weeks to understand the effectiveness of the vaccines against this new covid strain. If good news in three weeks e.g. vaccines can handle this then sharp rebound otherwise another decent drop.Holding tight for now. Likely to be down on Monday in the panic, remember longterm or medium term holders, a loss isn't a loss until it is realised!!! I'm holding tight and strapped in, turbulence ahead!!
An over reaction, there will continue to be new variants, as long as the vaccines continue to work, we will be fine. Small top up for me at 131, long term here holders will do well!! Hold tight a choppy few weeks and months ahead, GL All!!
I've averaged down, as ever got the timing wrong buying more but at least the price is stabilising around the 145 - 150 mark. I'm looking forward to the new year summer schedule and hopefully a big reduction in Covid cases along with a rise in bookings and hopefully rise in SP!! I think this stock will be one of the darlings of the FTSE100 as a recovery play next year, we shall see. GL All!!
Teddy100, I agree totally we need to get through this tough Winter period, but come Spring hopefully the whole world is in a better place and booking lots of flights for the Summer. IAG is well placed to take advantage of the summer pent up demand. GL All.
