Sundenza good Post, I think scrapping of the PCR tests will most certainly help but we do need US to fully open up. I'm a good bit down here, opting to hold just incase a RI is announced, but average of 172, so feeling the pain a bit. Not panicking though, as there is massive pent up demand. A long term hold for me, but for those brave to take risk and have dry powder at the ready, I think plenty of money to be made. Will be interesting to see how the wider travel stocks fair with less travel restrictions. I guess it all depends on what happens with Covid too. GL All!!
Fugazi - You may just be right if another RI in the midst, I will have some funds ready to load up. IAG one of the best airline groups in my opinion to weather the storm and come out the other side, leaner and primed for take off post pandemic. GL All!!
I concur Paddyboy, we have the vaccine this year, last year people thinking possible demise of the company. I still wouldn't rule out a new RI, but more to have the fire power to be in a position to take over weaker competitors in the near future. Going to be a interesting few weeks and months ahead. GL All!!
Interesting debate, I think the longer it takes for the US to fully open up, the more likely it is that there will be a RI. I've increased my holding, in the red at the mo but longterm, people holding here will do well. Perhaps IAG will go for a RI to take out other competitors? Who knows, but backing IAG long term and I believe your on to a winner. One final thought for me, in the event of a big RI again, what would be the likely formula, down to similar levels to last time?
As I understand this correctly, I think it means as you weren't holding close of play Fri evening, then you have no entitlement for any rights, but happy to be corrected. I reduced my holding by 20k on Thu am before the price really dropped further so I have some spare cash to participate in the RI. My understanding, my rights entitlement will be based on the number of shares I still had close of play on Friday and not close of play Wed, so I'm locked in. That's how I understand this, the rights then appear as an additional line with your Share provider, mine is HL and you will clearly see how many have been assigned to you based on the quoted formula. What's interesting this time round I wouldn't be surprised to see a further offer from WIZZ. So therefore holding here may make shareholders the opportunity to further increase their value here. Very interesting!! GL All.
I've generally made money on all RIs I have participated in, interesting to see if IAG do go for another one. That will be determined I think by the speed the US fully opens up. I personally don't see a RI this year in IAG, but there again, who would have thought a pandemic would hit the world in 2020!!
Switcheroo!! That makes me laugh. I'm hoping to make enough in IAG to have a free ride in the other airline stocks. All about timing, very confident over a long timescale to double if not more here. GL All!!
IAG have used the pandemic as an opportunity to streamline the business in a big way. It will take time to recover but I think IAG is well positioned to be one of the top recovery plays post vovid not just in the aviation sector but in the FTSE100. A much trimmer airline group and ready to take out the competition. GL All!!
I believe Easyjet are right to have the RI as it firms up their accounts to weather the storm. What will be interesting to see if WIZZ come back with a higher offer. Now that would be very interesting indeed. Sold some of my holding at 720 and placed in IAG on their drop, but looking to participate in the RI to avoid dilution. Going to be interesting in the aviation sector. Massive pent up demand, medium to longterm holders will be fine, but for sure will be turbulence in the short term. GL All!!
Interesting debate on whether there will be a rights issue or not. We definitely need the US routes to fully open up that's where the big money is to be made. Long term holding here but now in the red, would like to see IAG and other travel stocks bounce back. Its going to take time with covid so patience needed. But once the bounce comes back here, it should be good!! GL All!!
Sounds reasonable Falklanderislander, I think also assuming 75%+ flying schedule, new Aer Lingus UK routes and hopefully Air Europa deal completed, then things will be looking very Rosey here!! Staying here for long term hold, hoping to at least double current SP!! GL All!!
No offence taken , my average at 172, averaged down but managed to buy some tranches in the RI and also outside that around 90p so slightly under water at the moment. Good luck to all at the moment, difficult market to trade in currently. Longterm I'm still confident of a decent recovery though!! GL All!!
