General observation. I very much hope to be still 'working' in my 70's, 80's.

If work is having an interest that makes money and keeps the grey matter exercised then that'd be great. Hardly work in fact? I actually think I'd sell 1/3 of my (now reduced) holding on the bounce the news would create and then buy back on the Nasdaq once the euphoria has passed. That would have been a good strategy on precedents I have personal experience of.

My reading was that brain metastases of solid tumours are high-FAP, as is lung cancer. Intranasal delivery of pre/cision warheads could be good for both, to lungs AND brain. TLSA are using a recently developed inhaler for delivery straight to the brain and CNS – and possibly circumventing the blood / brain barrier for pre/cison?

Anyway, years and many trials away..

Brain metastases are a very common and serious complication of oncological diseases. Despite the vast progress in multimodality treatment, brain metastases significantly decrease the quality of life and prognosis of patients. Therefore, identifying new targets in the microenvironment of brain metastases is desirable. Fibroblast activation protein (FAP) is a transmembrane serine protease typically expressed in tumour-associated stromal cells. Due to its characteristic presence in the tumour microenvironment, FAP represents an attractive theranostic target in oncology. However, there is little information on FAP expression in brain metastases. In this study, we quantified FAP expression in samples of brain metastases of various primary origin and characterised FAP-expressing cells. Intranasal delivery has been demonstrated to circumvent the BBB due to the special anatomy of the olfactory and trigeminal neural pathways that connect the nasal mucosa with the brain and the perivascular pathway within the CNS. In the last two decades, the concepts, mechanisms and pathways of intranasal delivery to the CNS have led to great success both in preclinical and clinical studies. More researchers have translated results from bench to bedside, and a number of publications have reported the clinical application of intranasal delivery.

Areas covered: This review summarizes results from recent clinical trials utilizing intranasal delivery of therapeutics to explore its pharmacokinetics and application to treating neurological disorders. Moreover, existing problems with the methods and possible solutions have also been discussed. The promising results from clinical trials have demonstrated that intranasal delivery provides an extraordinary approach for circumventing the BBB. Many drugs, including high-molecular-weight molecules, could potentially improve the treatment of neurological disorders via intranasal administration.

Expert opinion: Intranasal delivery is a novel method with great potential for delivering and targeting therapeutics to the CNS to treat neurological disorders.

'Inhaled chemotherapy has been proved to be feasible and safe in phase I, Ib/IIa and II clinical trials. Inhalation allows the administration of high drug doses directly to lung tumors without prior distribution in the organism. The severe systemic toxicities are consequently reduced.'

Expect the worst (nothing exceptional) but hope for the best. Two days’s notice is a bit weird but that does allow for 7am news tomorrow or Thursday. But I’ve also wondered whether aim companies like to have irregular updates so people don’t expect them on a certain day and so they feel pained into a corner on updates.

I would never wind-up Ice, though I think he'd have an opinion along the lines of 'such a deal would be voted down by shareholders'.

B2, I think that the post after yours saying your post was a good wind-up for the 3 Amigos garnered some of your reccs but it would be churlish of me to argue that 28 reccs isn't a jolly good tally.

A lot of people make posts with outlandish scenarios but there's a bit in those posters' mind that would be happy to say 'I told you so' if the post proved correct. I am still myself waiting for the licence deal with a pet oncology company (which could be closer if the focus moves on and away from AVA6k. I don't think it will though.

Now I've floated the tale of WG and the capital injection it probably won't happen to AVCT, and if it does I'll be the first to say 'I told you so!'.

And Market capitalisation of the company whose RNS I played with, £126.77 million. Their SP was over 40p till recently (previously way-higher) now 19p.

This a REAL and current RNS relating to a PLC in slight money difficulty where I've just changed the names, not the amounts. Note that the cash injection sounds great till you realise (2 seconds later) that current shareholders don’t see a penny of it. Is it that fanciful? YES! Cos it's almost pure fallacy in relation to AVCT. No one on the BB for this company saw the 'capital injection' coming when a takeover was mentioned in the press.

Update on Possible Offer

Summary

· The Board of AVCT has received a holistic non-binding conditional proposal from Blah-blah-blah PLC, comprising:

o a possible offer of 35 pence per AVCT share in cash to acquire the entire issued and to be issued share capital of the Company (the "Possible Offer");

o a possible capital injection of $450 million from Blah-blah-blah PLC to AVCT.

(And this following bit is my made-up comment) 'The Board of AVCT have indicated they are minded to accept the offer as it secures the future of AVCT and ensures that the Prec/cision platform helps cancer sufferers as soon as is practically possible and considerably faster than if AVCT develop their platform alone. The cash injection into AVCT represents fair value for the company.'

'The CEO and CFO of AVCT will ensure a smooth handover by joining the enlarged BOD of Blah-blah-blah PLC. Both have said they are "absolutely and ecstatic" to join Blah-blah-blah PLC where they already know some of the key people.'

One more thing Ben, you accuse FUD which is the standard reply to anyone who doesn't spout £200 ex China. Why would I 'FUD' when I'm 68% down? I just checked my HL account.

Some people have said they'd be delighted at 150p now, and that probably would leave me at a loss, without doing the exact sums.

Why not think before you accuse other shareholders of FUD when you don't know their position.
