RE: All the ducks....12 Jul 2022 11:40
Fair enough wyn, but it is still worth having the eve brand and the eve products, on sale. All things being equal (we know they aren't but indulge me) if there are 4 brands of mattress (Nectar / Emma / eve / Simba) then at the moment there is a 1 in 4 chance a customer will buy 'your brand'.
If (profitable) Emma for example buy-out eve then there is a 1 in 2 chance a customer is buying 'your brand' Emma, even if they don't realise it. And by then your eve sales are profitable ones too. Voila!
Alternatively a merger / reverse takeover..
If Brook and Wilde merged with eve there is some duplication in mattresses but Dontgive noticed that B&W sell more expensive ones too. So that's a bigger range of customer catered for too, all the way from a Sleep Away at Argos to your >£3000(?) mattress.
As for DFS, they might feel that if they don't buy eve out then eve brand would disappear and they'd have no source for their popular 'Which?' awarded eve hybrids. And they've said they want to expand into more beds..
(Good job I don't have more cash or I'd talk myself into averaging down.. I checked this morning and currently >70% down. Yikes.)
