Hi Wyn, just nipped out.

I don't know; you undoubtedly have more accounting experience than me (as I have almost zero) so we are both guessing. Even if the facility has been used, or partially used, it's not like there bank where they could shut eve down at the point the bank balance goes to nothing. It sounds like they would be a creditor in the fall-out process. So eve do still have around £1.5m before they hit the buffers, which gives longer than we feared to find a buyer.

That's my amateur take anyway.

From IR:

'As at 30 June eve had cash in the bank of £1.5m and no bank debt/or overdrafts. The working capital facility of £0.9m referred to in the statement is short-term revenue based funding for stock and marketing purposes only, provided by a third party. This is a common way for ecommerce businesses to scale and invest in stock and marketing. This is not bank debt with fixed repayments. Repayments fluctuate directly with revenue. From an accounting perspective it is treated as a trade creditor and does not net off against cash.'

(I think this is good news; I resisted the temptation to top up just now but only 'cos I'm too deep already.)

Just read your post stxx. They could say 'last Friday the position was XXX' and then everyone is happy.

Definitely sending tomorrow Yanis. I just figured that if Mark passed the query on on Friday then it might not get answered (not a priority) for two working days, and if I ask too early I'd perhaps have to ask a third time, which gets annoying for everyone.

Hi Yanis, they haven't answered yet, but I have drafted an email to ask again. Nearly sent it this morning but will wait 24 hrs.

On the job ads it could be a way of keeping up appearances at very little cost. That's fine, we need to keep up appearances; It just doesn't (to me) mean anything more than that, or that a buyout is about to be announced – and I wish it were, believe me. Putting up job ads is the opposite of shouting "Don't Panic" and so I am glad they have posted the ads. It doesn't make me more confident than I was before the ads.

Putting up job ads doesn't cost much and doesn't really guarantee anything I'm afraid. Could be a genuine signal or a false signal.

Didn't they advertise for Head of Sales recently? I guess they didn't fill the role, but who would apply atm?

I guess they need to sort something quickly regarding T/O or B/O (weeks preferable to months) so wouldn't sack people (redundancy cost could well be greater cost than paying their salary, in the short term) but not replacing natural wastage would be sensible.

Double-edge sword. Bad reviews definitely put off new buyers. July's bad review is August's lost sale. Hopefully they know what they are doing to secure the best outcome for us.

No answer regarding the size of the credit facility draw from IR yet. I nearly asked again this morning but decided to give them another 24 hrs as they are busy (again, hopefully).

You can only read the start of the article without a sub. Is that new photography, new packaging? It is 'Creative Review' so there must be a story there.

Regarding the flexi-Bank Hols she does say 'A benefit with no cost attached' which I do believe. It could even save eve money when they have a Hindu desk working on Christmas Day?!

The question marks in the Linked-in piece are emoticons that haven't worked in the post btw.

As for a recommendation, I really would hate to say anything. I did recommend eve to a friend a year ago, and avacta too, as an alternative. She went for AVCT and is now 40% down. Thank goodness she didn't go for eve. Even on here, expressing worries or confidence on eve could cost (or make) people money but it's simply a gamble really. I mentioned angle earlier as they have a marvellous product with FDA approval but could take years to generate revenue; what if they hash it up in the meantime or someone else cracks the problem another way?

I would just suggest reading bulletin boards, or NOT reading bulletin boards. Shares I have now (or have had in the past) and not too embarrassed about include Future, IKA / Ilika, angle, AVCT, G4M, and $SNOW. Some others have been more disastrous than eve but fortunately I had a lot less in them. At one time a lot of them were 'up'...

It is a lonely job picking winning shares I fear.

There's another bank holiday coming up, so we asked sleep wellness brand eve Sleep why they've recently changed their leave policy around them:

"Diversity, equality, and inclusion is something we are continuously evolving at eve and we're always looking at how to treat people as individuals. Our Pick and Mix bank holiday benefit acknowledges we are all different and should be given the choice to take a UK bank holiday or swap it for another day."
