It is certainly a vote of confidence that, have dipped their toes in the eve brand, DFS are stocking more (not less) despite being aware of the FSP and eve being vulnerable.
Would DFS pay up-front for stock? I'm less sure... But if the goodies sell then not a problem beyond a bit of initial cash-flow delay.

DFS was working a couple of hours ago; maybe site maintenance or a hot weather / thunder problem..

Cost them a bit over £200 for the excitement..

People have worked out that 'now' is about the same time that the simba talks took to fail, three years ago. I doubt that there'll be a leak so if there's no news it might be less positive on here fairly soon. But if 'good news' arrives things will go a bit crazy I'd imagine, when you see the volatility on zero news.

So eve don't really *choose' to use DX; eve use https://gfsdeliver.com/about-us/ and they use DX and any number of other couriers when supplying eve products.

(Did you notice he said – 26 minutes in – they've lost a lot less money year-on-year and eve are nearly profitable? I think that's a rather rampy but nice to hear nevertheless)

I should think the YouTube video would play well to possible buyers of the company. I need to watch it again, properly.

Interesting that they are planning to introduce timed delivery slots (not just a nominated day). Reading the DX board it seems that DX are specialists in larger items which is probably why eve use them for bed frames etc.
97% of deliveries go to plan and 30% of customers pay for premium delivery which makes money for eve. They are obviously thinking hard about stuff that's never crossed our minds here so that is reassuring too.

Steve seems like a very capable person. He's emailed me a few times and has always been very knowledgable. When one of my pillows was missing from the box it was Steve who sorted it out.

I don't normally stay for daughters' netball but today I did. Talked more to other dads than normal and just now and got more onto what we do for a living. One of the dads works for Mammoth Mattresses! He was amazed I'd heard of them and he knows of eve sleep. He said Mammoth hardly spend on marketing but have sales people instead. Result is that they're profitable but few have heard of them. He said eve (Simba / Nectar) spend a lot on marketing so people have heard of them but they lose money.

He said that they (eve / Simba / Nectar et al) are just trying to be alive when the others have fallen by the wayside so that they can pick up the business. Anyway, netball has finished now so I'll update him in September.

Wyn, do you suspect news alway gets into the charts before it's announced. Even if it's a small number of people making telephone calls?

The other day it was 100% up at one point and now it's down. Either the news has changed dramatically or there was never any news and it's just people jumping on-and-off the bandwagon as it teeters along.

I'm guessing it's just that people are very nervous of missing out on huge gains or taking huge losses that's causing the swings..

Without wishing to be unduly negative I wondered whether any other companies (a bit like eve) had got into trouble, to see how it panned out for them. I can't find anything similar. Just these two which are quite different:

In a sense I hope the US investor wasn't Resident so that they might still show an interest. Still, just because it didn't work out a while ago doesn't necessarily mean that they wouldn't change their mind again.

I wonder whether 'Resident' were the US people who were in the original talks? Certainly eve should be a perfect fit in their portfolio so they'd have two brands in the UK.

Winner will be announced in October (so would be embarrassing if eve had gone to the wall).

DX have been having a bit of a crisis and maybe they are not fully focussed on customers (to say the least). The shares are suspended at the moment.
The eve chat SHOULD work shouldn't it.. And it can't be because they are unduly busy if the downturn is to be believed. If anything I was expecting tp reviews to improve. Maybe the eve staff are despondent atm? Ill with covid? Could be expecting their P45s (though I guess it's not a P45 if a company gets into difficulties).

As for the herd, they could be back shortly if there is good news, and in fact, many more of them.

I am glad there wasn't news this morning as that would have all looked very corrupt. Tomorrow would be fine though.

Sleep Away is back to £179 at Argos (£197 at eve sleep.co.uk) and they still sold 4 in last 24 hrs.

Thinking about it, if they had come out and said 'we note the rise in sp today and the BOD wish to say they know of no reason blah, blah, blah' that would have meant: 'no one has contacted them regarding the FSP'?

So can we assume that someone HAS contacted them? (Bit of a stretch I know but happy to lift dontgive's spirits :)
