PXC - despite general profit-taking this morning, it's good to see that the the majority of tyhe trades still look to be buys. It is certaionly not impossible that a predator is building up a head a steam - e.g. BT who might well have an appetite. My only real concern is that too many of the current holders are weak and very frothy - e.g. T20 types who will have to bail out when the cash call comes.

PRTY - Unicorn - You make the perhaps valid point that PRTY will be on the acquisition trail in the near future. That being so, shouldn't one be rather more chary of this company and be seeking instead the potential prey ..... Don't ask me who, as this is not a sector that I follow ... yet!

PXC - I think there is much more to the activity than just a couple of favourable mentions in w/e press, for there have been huge volumes traded all last week.

PCX - for at least the 5th consecutive day, trading in this company has been exceptionally heavy, even if today saw ONLY 35 million shares change hands - the norm is about 9.5 million. Hearsay, and it is no more than that, though the source is consistently reliable, reckons PXC could (should?) attain 20/21p in the very foreseeable future ..... 5 year high is about 25p.

ELP - do not lose sight of the fact that this company, though it certainly has some interesting drilling rights, is currently just a "bklue sky and jam tomorrow" enterprise. The world and his wife anre currently piling in, notwithstanding that, as I understand it, there will be no feedback from the Jag field drilling for a further 6 weeks. There is certainly no guarantee that this test drilling will produce the results that the price is (probably) already discounting. Should that be so, it will be impossible for stock to be unloaded. With the above in mind, do not be shy of banking profits ..... For myself, in this field, I shall probably just stick with BURand VOG, both of which are proven and "proper" companies, producing very good returns on my investment, and CER which is of a more speculative nature.

PXC - did a bit more research at the office and think I may well be taking up a position on Monday ..... Maybe not as viscerally exciting as ELP, but at least PXC is a proper company with a track record!

Jameel - sorry; my comment was unnecessary and OTT, fuelled I fear by an exceptionally good evenbeing of VERY fine wines and food. However, in principle, the caveat still applies ..... Tiny exploration companies with no assets have similar odds of becoming the next Cairn or similar as of winning a big prioze on the lottery. Cairn and similar still presented many many opportunities for spectacular returns AFTER they had found good and solid reserves.

ELP .... and fools walk in where angels fear to tread and/or a fool and his money are easily parted .... That said, fools are very very occasionally found to have backed a good horse rather than a three-legged nag

PXC - Surely there ought (rather than must) be more to all the recenet excitiemnt that the attched ex The Times today: WiMax, a wireless technology that promoters say promises faster speed and better quality internet access on the move, is being prepared for commercial use by Pipex, reports the Times.

ELP - Why should the shares start to move next week? Surely only drilling starts then, with the result unknown for a further month or so.

ELP - per my post Thursday 19:16, I shall do nothing here, and nor have I jumped on the EME bandwagon ...... Chasing all these little "excitements" is probably bad (on balance) for your wealth.

PXC - average shares traded daily is usually around 9.5 million so that is certainly a lot of shares traded of late. Is it knowledgeable or just the lemmings? ...... The shares themselves have traded in a very narrow band for the last year, yet strangely, for all this dealing, they have not broken out of it ...... As a company, I think their product, or at least their internet access bit, is pretty good ... and no I have not got any shares.

ELP - I shall sit this one out while ELP dig their hole in the ground. For current investors, I hope ELP do not fall down it themselves. Per my post of Wednesday 13:41, I don't like the way the directors have clearly looked after themselves very well when the company does not have the wherewithall to warrant it. IF, and it is a big IF, ELP get seriously lucky, then though I may miss the first rush of euphoria, there will be more than crumbs to pick up subsequently.

ELP - following on your comment in HNR ..... Though there have been 2/3 reasonabvle sized buying orders today in ELP, assuredly neither they nor (especially) the chappy in Norway, know any more than the rest of us ...... Perhaps ELP will be like Caspian (today) or perhaps like the last lottery ticket you may bought ...... Odds are slightly better than the latter, but a long long long way from a racing cert

CER - this share has performed phenomenally over the last couple of months, with no obvious logic behind it. Solely on the basis that nothing ever continues strighjt up (or down) have decided it is time to take a profit. If the sp comes back sufficiently, I am sure I shall be buying back in.
