ELP - apology readily accepted ...... and very calmly, if you have a good profit, it really would be prudent to bank some of it BEFORE the drilling result is known. An awful lot of good news must surely be discounted in today's price.

PXC - Hi KWB - I was tempted to much more acerbic and/or sarcastic, but I was taught to be magnanimous in victory and not to guffaw and gloat in front of the vanquished .... So I won't!! I don't know quite as much as you think. However, my or perhaps even our view is that Pipex is more likely to be a target for the likes of BT who, from memory, are now proscribed from acquiring companies which control landlines, or something like that. That being so, a company like Pipex with a good customer base and all sorts of other positives, becomes very desirable.

GedW ..... I hope you haven't gone to hang yourself for being proven wrong ..... It happens to the best of us, and I would hate you take this incident to heart ... lol!

KGF - A strange performance this morning, for the shares have shot up, whereas they generally only move a penny or two...... No untoward volume or obvious news, though KGF has long been a t/o spec .... Indeed, within the last couple of days, Panmure marked KGF down to "sell".

a little historical and other diversion helps pass the day and occasionally produces interesting discussion. By the way, I still await an apology or at least an admission of error from GedW about the placing ...... I dare say Henry XIII will be on the throne by then, and me long dead! BTW, I too topped up yesterday to about 85% of my usual stake ...... If I get more bullish, I may yet buy a further tranche.

ELP/EME - I spend quite a lot of time at the office following the markets, and have no qualms about commenting on shares I own, on which I usually comment in the post, or those which I don't or won't, in which case, I will say why. FYI, I have not shorted either ELP or EME, so I have no axe to grind - i.e. "protest too much" about what ..... ELP I happen to feel quite strongly about as I took the trouble to look into it a bit more carefully. Indeed I may well be proved wrong ...... or again, I may be like Cassandra who was also mocked by all Trojans ..... You will recollect that they met a nasty end! ..... lol!!

CRO - Read my post of 4th January. IMO, you did well to get out ...... and, not that you want my advice, stay out!

ELP - There is such a huge long position in these shares that, even if the result is positive, then the arrival could well prove anticlimactic with a subsequent tumble of the price ...... Assuming the find is truly economic etc, that might be the time to invest.

ELP - You must have read one of my earlier acidic posts where I commented that the directors looked after themselves exceedingly well when the company clearly lacked the assets, profits and general wherewithal to support or warrant same.

ELP - for all the hype, I am prepared to wait for ACTUALITY until I put my money in here. I will just repeat that until the drilling result materialises in late February, one is buying "blue sky" ....... The thundering herd may ultimately be proven right, but the prudent investor would be wise to bank some profits lest they all disappear (and more) in a puff of dry dust.

Anyway, the received wisdom now is that Mortimer, in collusion with Isabella (I think that was her name; Edward's wife) spirited Edward out of the country to Italy where they thought he might be more useful as a political pawn. SUB is just another very low cap company with little liquidity, trading levels etc ..... You could just as easily have pickd up on the fact that someone bought 37300 shares at 11:30 ..... In a nutshell, IMO nothing of great note.

PXC - GedW - I can see why you piss off a lot of peeps. However, I am so old and ugly it worries me not. As i said, i shall investigate again/further and post accordingly. Anyway, scarcely as heinous as some of the puffs about fancy share prices being imminently attained or similar or worse.
