PXC - Am I blind? Quite possibly, but my braille version of IC has no buyer's guide or even pages with Roman numerics.... I can't remember the last time I bought IC, but I did so because I heard of an article about CSR of which I am something of a fan ..... VOG and a few other site-faves were also mentioned therein.

CDG - If it's of any comfort this week's Investor's Chronicle suggests buying on any weakness ..... Not exactly a ringing endorsement, and when a share has fallen this far, when is "a weakness" deemed to be such?

MARKETS - I confess to becoming a little concerned that the markets in general are getting a bit overheated ....... FTSE had a little breather and has now broken through 5770. DOW is having a second roaring day and is once again within spitting distance of 11000. NIKKEI has broken through the 16200/16450 trading band All the above without pausing for breath ...... Small investors seem to be piling in to all sorts of "strange" stocks as if they can only go upwards ....... Us old and ugly ones know that is not true, and corrections can be pretty sharp and vicious ...... I just get the feeling that one is lurking round the corner

CDL - My little town does not seem to know Share Magazine, so any chance of a synopsis ...... It was with great difficulty that i even got a copy of IC!

CER - Not huge volumes, but about double average ..... No huge single purchases but virtually all buyers ...... Up 34p today .... Thank you very much and I hope that at least a few of you have got on board

PNC - Unless told to the contrary, x = cross-trade is effectively where there is a matched buyer to the seller. There is no effect to the shareholders though I suppose it arguably distorts the day's trading volume.

BFC - My sobriquet would not be "cynic" if I were the constant promoter! if you read ALL my posts on this company, my view would be clear. At the moment, I have no position at all and expect to stay that way for the time being as I am uncertain as to why the major recovery when the company is seemingly still in dire financial straits. However, I note that UBS now hold 8.62% of the company which could be mere investment or perhaps a front for a potential predator.

CDL - Though IC does give this company a buy rating, the article is not entirely glowing and highlights several caveats ..... Final conclusion was Speculative Buy, so don't bet your shirt let alone your house!

CSR - With great difficulty, I found a copy of IC in my little town here ..... They don't seem to have biz maggies; just cars n girls! ..... Anyway, I will transcribe here ...... CSR is the archetypal aggressive growth stock ....... Daramatic acceleration of profits and sales over the past 2 years ..... Growth for the company is set to continue ....."

VML - While Diabolito keeps the company in funds, this is realtively old if welcome news. Next report of any significance would seem to be due around the end of this month on their copper site at Choix, though it is unclear how high quality/volume this is expected or even hoped to be. If I have interpreted correctly, Vane's other sites seem to be a bit marginal.

IEC - Have just had a quick look and it would seem to be a very good company ...... There's 3 good announcements between mid December and about a week ago.

IEC - Afarid I don't know this one at all ...... Do you really want me to look at it? For myself, I reckon I have enough mining and oil stocks already ...... CER, PGO, VOG, BUR, KAZ, VML ..... Any more, and I think I'll sink with the weight!

CSR - today's 9/10% surge (£1.00+) may just be on the back of the buy recommendation in Investor's Chronicle, though there may be more to it ...... I'll probably spend a couple of shekels to see what the whole article said ..... + that on CDL

CDL - so don't keep us in suspense ..... Please copy and paste extract so the strength of the recommendation can be judged.

PRTY - Why? .... Not that I hold any of these, but good figures were already factored in and there has been a lot of hot money piling in of late ...... My own guess is that PRTY will pull back, perhaps quite significantly, before consolidating for a while and perhaps regaining upward momentum in a few weeks.

PSON - The price had great difficulty carcking the 700 barrier, but having done so, is rocketing ahead. This may be just on the back the recent spec that FT, which PSON own, will be sold or it may be a perception that the shares have more fundamental reasons for being uprated.

CSR - thanks GedW ..... Just thought you might have further insight ..... All I know is that the shares are well bid even at these new high levels ...... I have CSR as one of main portfolio stocks, having got in there via the (strong) recommendation of Quantum Leap which seems to be quite a good publication.

CSR - In my last post here of 12/1 I accidentally attributed the post to CER ...... Subsequent to that, I did buy back in and what a good move that seems to have been! ..... Shares are up £1.00 today (9/10%) but cannot find any news at all. GedW .... This looks to be one you also follow ..... Any thoughts?
