On the basis that you get owt for nowt, you may well be right .... Best way to check would be to "phone a friend" to ask his broker simultaneously or ask your bank (say) to quote you. You certainly should not have a greater sprwead than quoted here, and if you were able to get a true MM price, you can quite often get inside the "apparent" spread.

GTL - see my earlier post ..... rather like COP, unless there is somethinmg positive to get excited about in the next few days, another one likley to be culled!

BUR - having tumbled badly, there was then a good recovery .... I think the late sales can pretty well be ignored. Strongl;y recommend that any BUR actual or potential fans read the article on oilbarrel.com.

GTL - both BFC and DOO continue to power ahead while GTL seems to have stalled ..... Any input from other members would be welcomed.

BFC - surely everyone cannot be shellshocked after a horrid start in London today ..... A little ray of sunshine here today (again!), but I am beginning to wonder if the price is getting a bit ahead of itself. After all, we all know the news about production that will be confirmed at the end of the month, so surely that is now discounted ...... Any thoughts from anyone?

UBT and other minuscule value stocks - Why do some of you guys get so excited when a "minuscule value" stock goes up by x% ..... in this instance, sp has risen by 14.29% ..... big deal! that is 0.50p which does not even cover the spread!

BFC - just because Brussels says somehting must be so, don't don't for one moment think that all member states will rush to comply! It's only the bureaucratic idiots in UK who adopt every EU directive and then add brass knobs ...... That is why, if you know the story, that the lightbulbs in one of the Lake District towns cannot be changed ..... UK HSE demands that a cherrypicker be used and that someone on a ladder is banned ..... Streets too narrow for a cherrypicker!

BFC and other alternative fuel companies - Though wizzer is technically right, there is an awful long way to go before any companies involved in this field are really profitable. Furthermore, should there be any significant weakening in the oil price, there will be a reflection in the sp of these alternative fuel companies. It is also almost inevitable that there will be a number of of these companies who get it wrong, or run out of cash or whatever. So, while I too am an investor here (and also in GTL), do not be lulled into believing that all will be plain sailing as far as the eye can see.

BUR - the sellers are out and I reckon, with sorrow, that it is time to cut my losses ..... but I shall still monitor with a view to returning in due course

EKA - Self* - am very pleased for you, but do remain very aware that the sp in this co is very volatile on small volume .... At some point, if you want to maintain exposure but protecty your profit, you may consider switching to CER who, as you know, hold 22% of EKA.

DGM - GedW ask for my opinion? That'll be the day! Not only is he much more knowledgeable than I, for I am not remotely involved in finacial circles, but if he does, it would only be to beat me up for being wrong!

PXC - It will be interesting to see what BT has to say on Thursday when they announce Q3 results ... or so the press seems to think. There would certainly seem very good logic for BT making a bid, and with luck, it will then turn into a dogfight. What the final exit price would be is anyone's guess, though 20p might be quite optimistic .... Why 20p? Merely that it looks to be the all time high or thereabouts.

DGM - fletch - you flatter me that anyone let alone the holders of say 1.5 million shares should hang on my words, let alone those that merely asked why anyone would want to throw money as this share.
