An opinion given the fact I have a 18 year old daughter, working part time, and 23 year old Nephew.

The first thing to go when money is tight is actually going out. This has been the trend for many years due to the higher costs of drinking in a bar / pub.

They still “go out” but it is mainly to one of their houses and they’ll buy their drinks in a supermarket en route. This significantly reduces their cost for the evening.

Interestingly they still buy new clothes to do this as they still want to be seen in the latest fashion / look good in front of their friends.

So buying clothes is still a big tick box but spending £££’s drinking “out” is a no go.

All of this on a rumour. Not holding but good luck all 👍
