It is indeed possible that this could fall further, mainly because there is little volume and it only needs a few PIs to get impatient and sell to drop the price. On the other hand, at the first sniff of sales of the HCV test this will go up quite quickly imo. Lack of liquidity works in both directions. They have plenty of cash for now, and if they do sell the Services Division as proposed this will further boost the coffers. So I don’t see a fund raise anytime soon at these levels. If one is needed, in my view, it will be some distance down the road and at a higher share price than today’s. This is a company which, assuming no problems with the HCV test (and field trials have been successful) is about to start generating a lot more cash from sales. The Pru have been buying and increasing their stake quietly in the background, and there are people waiting in the wings to jump in as soon as they can see evidence of sales building and risk reducing. I am happy to be holding although I wish I was holding at today’s price rather than at my somewhat higher average!

The resolution authorising buy back of up to 25% just gives flexibility for the future. The details of the existing buy back programme have been RNSd.

Thanks Truro Some thumping great sells on the 22nd at 10.50 but the sp has held up fairly well as I can still sell for over 12.00 if I want to. I think these sells will be Kesari funding their down payments and/or Brandon Hill cashing in their debt repayments so, hopefully, one offs. Having said that, if it is Kesari, then we might see a pattern of sells of shares to fund further purchases of marble, but that would be something I could live with.

.... I bought some back today at a very slightly lower price than I sold them at. Whilst it’s only been a couple of days, it looks like that round number seller has either paused, stopped, or has a minimum sell price above the current one. Nice to see today’s chunky buys too.

Peel Hunt initiated coverage on GDR back in October with an investment buy rating and a target price of 150p. So they see lots of upside from here. In itself I wouldn’t place much store by a brokers rating but combine that with an outfit like the PRU building a sizeable stake and it all begins to look rather rosey in my view. What with the HCV test successfully trialled in the field, first mover advantage with a portable molecular testing device, and big distribution deals in place this is on the cusp of commercial traction. That is what the Pru is buying for. Once there is evidence of sales (which won’t be long in my view) the penny will drop and this will fly - the lack of liquidity will ensure that any significant buying will rapidly move the price. All just my opinion and DYOR and all that, but I am optimistic.

Live spread is 33.02/34.99 so not that wide in reality. It is still relatively wide but I am guessing the market makers would say that as this is an illiquid stock they require a wider spread to compensate for the risk of being left ‘holding the baby’.

Yep, I wondered if it was them yesterday and the RNS confirms it. Good sign that they are still adding imo.

Is nobody concerned that Baker Hughes can sell at less than 19p with impunity because the company has agreed to make up any shortfall with cash or more shares? I like this company and have been invested on a number of occasions but I am currently out as I fear downward pressure on the sp in the short term. Views?

That’s put us in the risers board for once. Happy days. The fact that it has moved up freely this time could mean that the background seller is done which would be excellent. More of the same please. Maybe the Pru is buying again?
