I wouldn’t rule out CEZ quietly buying some EMH too. Not saying they will, but I can see why they might. And then of course there is Cadence. What might they be thinking? They tweeted about the deal but that obviously doesn’t mean much. Institutions and HNW individuals tend to know more and buy when small PIs panic and sell leading to a weaker SP and buying opportunity. Be interesting to see how this pans out but I would be amazed if in the short term we don’t see KC interviewed and generating some positive sentiment and a bounce in the SP.

Glad to see Krupa’s supportive comments, especially the reference to potentially increasing their stake in EMH when the CEZ deal is concluded. Grateful also to Tesla for posting as that would explain some of the price action this morning. I noticed also that the other link posted about Geomet appears to confirm that it does indeed have share capital. The future of EMH is not going to be determined by one poster or one morning’s trades.

There will be a lot of PIs who will be surprised at the loss of a majority stake and were in this for a hoped for bumper payout on the deal announcement. They are currently selling. Hence the ‘muted’ response so far. Once they are out, this will begin to build positive momentum imo, for the reasons stated earlier.

Agreed this is great news. To keep it simple, three facts:
1) A €34m investment for 51% of Geomet gives it a value now of €66m or £57m, much more than our current MC.
2) We retain a 49% interest in a project with a NPV of $1.1Billion.
3) Up till now it was in CEZ’s interests for EMH’s SP to be suppressed. Now it’s in their interests for Geomet’s (and therefore EMH’s) value/SP to be maximised.

Agreed - mostly institutions patiently waiting for this to pay off for them as most will have bought higher. When it moves, it will move fast as PIs notice and jump in.

More likely people who bought small parcels when the sp was a lot higher who have got fed up with waiting imo. We are getting quite small buys too. I have long since ceased to be surprised at the small size of some trades. Anybody else here use Twitter? It doesn’t hurt to promote the share there as a lot of PIs use it. Every little helps when it comes to getting this share on people’s radar.

So, they have moved the actual bid up this morning from 16.1 to 17.25 on a handful of very small trades. Any real volume and the gap will narrow further. I have said it before, anyone selling when the bid is ridiculously low, is simply being robbed.

It is irritating at one level but, on the bright side, it keeps the traders out, which personally I see as a positive. The current spread is irrelevant if investing for the mid to long term as it rapidly narrows as soon as there is any volume (and I get that there is a degree of catch 22 there). There will be a trigger here at some point and the current spread and SP will be history imo. GLA

Well, we broke through the 200 day moving average on the 11th and have held that (indeed gone up further) for the following two trading days, so looks pretty bullish to me!

Folk must need cash for Xmas to sell for 16p !

I think you need to change your chart provider Ant. My SMAs (with Saga Share Direct/Equiniti Financial Services) are stable at all values from 1 month up. Certainly looks like a breakout/favourable trend reversal to me, so let’s hope it maintains its recent trajectory into news.

I get that effect if I use the exponent MAs (presumably something to do with how they are worked out?) but not if I use the simple MAs. I tend to use the latter because I don’t really understand the former.

When I say 'don't change" I mean when looking at the same period, obviously.

On my platform, on anything from a month's chart upwards, they don't change, which is what you would expect. For some reason, on the daily charts, from 1-5 days, they change dramatically. No idea why, but I just ignore the averages on those charts as they cannot be accurate.

I am no chartist and give more weight to fundamentals, but it looks to me as if we have had a significant trend reversal/breakout since 30th November, pushing through the 20 and 50 day moving averages and trending just above the upper Bollinger band since then, with the 200 day MA sitting at about 18.75p. Push through that and I would have thought that it was looking pretty bullish from a TA point of view. If we can do that and the news drops at more or less the same time, it could be a perfect storm for a major re rate imo.

I agree that we could get a bigger company wanting to acquire us, but it would need to be a very attractive offer (way above current market cap) for shareholders to agree, imo.

Lack of liquidity and wide spreads have long been the problem with this share, which is as you imply, a consequence of it being off the radar of most PIs. However, the spread is narrowed pretty quickly as soon as a few trades come along, as we saw recently. The lack of liquidity then becomes an asset as it drives the price up quickly. I believe that will happen on any of the short term catalysts mentioned in my summary below happening. I am probably being dim, but I am not sure what you mean when you refer to a trade sale?
