We've dropped a long way from the 2195p close before ex div day. A drop of over £3 for the £1.10 divi,
Over the same few days the FTSE100 has dropped from 7273 to 7208 = less than 1%.
So a very poor run in the last week or so.
Steve nailed the possibility of the £18 level which would be a superb entry price for those that had funds available.
I'm waiting for next month before I may have more funds to add.
My current average cost is 2121p roughly, with equivalent of about 90p per share in divis, as some bought after recent ex div date. While current sentiment may be negative, I am optimistic the share will recover given time, so quite happy to hold for the forseeable future. An initial target of £25 would see me sell around 20-25%, if we got there. There is no reason why the SP cannot get back to £30 if profit levels remain as they were for 2021. The divi of 235p p.a is a massive 12% or so at the moment, which is a great carrot. Of course any new shareholder would have to wait 9 months before securing the next divi.
Not many better value shares to be seen in the FTSE100 in my opinion, but with my track record the normal advice would be to steer clear of anything I buy, as I am called CSDI for a good reason - Crap Share Dealing Ideas.

And here was me thinking you were talking about the SP.
Market goes up - VOD goes nowhere
Market goes down - VOD outperforms/loses less
On a day when the FTSE up like a treble 20, VOD SP not moved - typical
Brokers targets mean sweet .... nothing !
In general, some will say sell, some will say buy and some will say hold.
Someones going to be right (eventually)
all have vested interests and get paid no matter what happens to the SP.
A bit like financial advisors - they always take a %age whether you are up or down.
Trust no-one but yourself. But then do not blame others when things don't work out.

Sounds promising, as the TU on 27th april advised completions would be concentrated in H2, as the usual pattern.
Ave prices were up to £266K from £252, so approx 6% improvement there. What will be the increase in costs, so should we expect lower margins or not ?
I would like the SP to stay low for the DRIP, but knowing my luck it will jump on the news, so will end up with less shares added. Oh well time will tell. I am not going anywhere and my shares will be held for a good while as no intention to sell any at less than £25 - so expecting a long wait. Its always a fast fall (£22 to £18 in 7 days), and a slower climb back.

Hi Rob
No worries as my losses are only small compared to many who invested £000s.
Just need a bit/lot of patience hopefully.
Reading the POLY BB, there are many with serious paper losses atm.
Hi Gary
You can't beat a bit of diversification to spread any risk.
You can look at the big yielders from the link below:

A couple of shares that throw off a good income are:
NCYF
SUPR

From today's RNS:
1. Auditor now in place.
2. Dividend announcment for 2021 and H1 2022 to be made on 22nd September.
3. No further details on business split for now.
More patience required

PSN's divi history for the last few years has been two divis per year. One in March and June each.
tHe next divi will likely be announced with 2022 year end results and no earlier.
Mr Market is having his usual fits and wobbles - no logic to a 40% drop in 12 months, but it could get a lot worse befoe its gets better. I've been buying tiny bits in March, April and June and if the SP stays around this level will look to add a bit more next month to get pound cost averaging.
The market always over re-acts with SP on the way up and the way down. We are getting closer to the 5 years lows on the SP when Covid struck, so hopefuly the doom and gloom is overdone soon and we can start climbing the proverbial wall of worry. My current average cost is around 2122p and I am hoping for a target of £25 for my first partial sale.

Hi Robleo
Welcome back to good old sunny Blighty.
That is one of the longest sentences I have seen LOL.
You were spot on with PSN - right idea to sell before ex div day. Its dropped nearly £4 inside a week for a £1.10 divi.
The FTSE has dropped about 3% over the same time, so VOD is holding well.
A lot of pressure on the markets atm, with short term looking pretty gloomy.
GLA - C
Thanks Dan. Never look at Yahoo Finance so never get misled LOL.
I have enough problems looking after my lonely share.
Divi on PSN > 12%, but SP down 38% in 12 months - makes VOD look brilliant !
Cheers - C
The divi postponement was clearly announced by RNS on 13th April.
The company advised it would review the position in August - to consider the postponed 2021 divi and the 2022 H1 divi.
don't expect any announcement on divis until then. Patience all.
GLA - C
Yes, suppose you are correct there Dan. As someone currently out of VOD how dare I suggest a falling SP.
I would like to remind all VOD holders that it may be better in short term for prices to fall so you can buy and accumulate at a better level.
In the long run we all want higher prices so we can sell at a profit.
My only holding is PSN and that has sunk quite a way recently. This is fine while I am building the position over the next few months, but ultimately I want that to rise at least £25, as it was over £30 12 months ago.
It amazes me how long some shares stay out of favour for, and they always end up in my p/f LOL.

Yes Steve
Getting closer to the £18 you mentioned some time ago.
Certainly a better buying opportunity now after the two divis taking it down.
SP dropped 9.2% on March's ex div day, and 12% on last week's ex div day - certainly been a catalyst to take price down.
No doubt if market was on a bull run, the divi drops would have been less than the divis - but I have noted how often big divi shares get over-punished on ex div day, having watched tobacco shares and the likes of RIO in the miners get pummelled.
Hey ho - all part of the rich tapestry .....
I am sitting out for at least £25, so expecting a long wait.
I've been here before with PSN buying in a SIPP at £27.44 in Feb 2018, only to watch it tumble 40%, before climbing back.
At least this time my highest purchase is £23.24 back in March, and the lowest £19.63 last week.
Hope to add a little more next month as I try to build the ISA.
Funny how falls always happen quickly and dramatically, and the recovery takes ages climbing the "worry wall"
GLA - C
Wow - a shared Gold on the podium this week
Well done guys - a good effort by VOD going against the markets falls this week.
I was watching PSN tumble 12% on Thursday - all for the benefit of a 5% divi - ouch !!
Impressed how VOD holds up well when the rest of the market is tumbling.
Just have to watch how high these interest rates go - as it will have a negative impact with all the debt that VOD carries.
Unlike my PSN share which is debt free with cash in the bank (for now at least).
GLA - C
Hi Steve
Yes even the longest walk starts with the first step !
My aim was to build an ISA of £5K this year, with 2 or 3 shares.
I'm halfway there but have lost a few hundred quid via taking on some POLY shares and deciding that was a bad choice and stomaching the losses. Fancied gold miners for a while but not enugh in kitty to buy PSN and POLY or CEY, so moved all to PSN for now.
When I add a few hundred quid next month have to decide whether to keep all eggs in one basket or start another share.
Choices choices.
The PSN divi will be used to buy a few more shares with the drip. Asuming PSN keep the divi at 235p p.a it will add 11% in shares, so in a couple of years will have built up from 2.5K to approx 3K on its own with a depressed £20 SP. If it climbs back to £25 I will be selling some.
Thanks for the encouragement
Cheers - C
