George Frangeskides, Chairman at ALBA, explains why the Pilbara Lithium option ‘was too good to miss’. Watch the video here.
No I am not a holder of LLOY atm.
Was trying a SB using a dummy account a while ago but not put any funds into there.
Just like to keep an eye on the market and maybe one day return to buy LLOY if I can muster up some funds.
My best hope is that PSN recovers some way, with most of its profits returned as divis (235p for 3 out of 4 years).
Plan to add some more bits over next couple of months and wait as long as necessary.
Interesting to see the link between PSN and LLOY as both UK focused.
I guess many mortgages from LLOY used to buy PSN houses.

Hi Dan
Sorry but do not have spare funds to invest, and need to stick with my PSN long term plan.
Have cost myself quite a few quid trying to trade POLY and now bailed out.
Just like to keep an eye on the markets and enjoy the banter here.
As you say VOD holding up well - and beating PSN hands down over the last few mnths since I started my little ISA.
Maybe one day when PSN has recovered I can look at coming back to VOD !
Cheers - C
Good spot there LTI
I jumped out of a frying pan into a fire !
POLY has been a shocker for me - closed out there with another loss.
PSN - down about 20%-25% from my first purchase in early March.
Currently sitting on a loss of about 12% loss on PSN, net of divis.
I am expecting a better recovery from PSN than I would get from LLOY, but then again with my track record ... maybe not
Remember I call myself CSDI with good reason.
GLA with LLOY - as I wish all investors well - as it is no fun to be on the wrong side of a poor investment/trade.
Still believe Buybacks are a waste of money, but that is my opinion.
Cheers - C
So now spent £1.4B on this waste of money.
A market cap down to £28B.
A possible recession on the horizon and the banks best use of funds is to buy its own shares.
Just think you could have had a very tasty dividend, but instead just watch as the value of the shares continues to fall as it has done since the start of the year when the SP was around 55p.
Hey Ho just glad I sold out back in April.
Hopefully we are getting near a bottom, which may prove to be a better time to invest or top up/average down
GLA - C
Thanks Rob for all your good work on this fun competition.
Fred is turning into a genius with his medals stacking up.
Do I qualify for a share of the Bronze medal this week, to add to my tally ?
The sun is coming out next week so I am expecting VOD to shine - all the way up to ...... 130p
GLA - C
Oh moley - I do hope you're right on that one - with no disrespect to all the VODders here.
Somehow PSN is in a real bind now - the only way is down atm.
One day the tide will change but don't know when.
As you say, when it does, it will outperform VOD but in the meantime VOD has held up superbly.
Since the RUS invasion of UKR, VOD is up about 10%, while PSN is down 25% - as I know to my cost.
I am hoping that on the basis that every dog has its day, that PSN will recover. I don't expect a return to £32 and likewise I cannot see VOD getting back to £2. My view FWIW is that VOD is a share to trade within the range 100-140p.
I think Patient had a good trading run last year, with numerous batches of small percentage gains.
Anyway, best not to take any notice of me as my moniker CSDI suggests !

Yes agree with Steve comments there. Happy to stick with AJ Bell, and would have used Halifax if their IT systems had allowed me to open an ISA. Despite assurances after an hour long conversation as an existing Hfax customer, the application did not go through - their loss and AJB's gain.
disappointed to see another fall today in the SP. Over the last month we have 9 down days and 14 up days - yet the SP has dropped approx £4 or 20%. Not a pleasant trend to say the least. The SP has dropped approx 40% over the last 12 months. When will the tide turn in our favour ?
Sitting on a 11.7% loss at the moment, despite buying my first batch at £23.25 in March.
Plan is to keep adding little by little if funds allow.
No rush to sell, so fingers crossed we head back to £25 plus
GLA - C
AJ Bell have done their little tricks for me in the ISA.
Spent £200 buying 11 more shares yesterday, for a £1.50 commission.
Today bought 4 more shares with the DRIP for another £1.50 commission.
So now increased from 127 to 142 shares with lower average cost of 2088p, down from 2121p.
Not a big difference obviously, but in the words of Tesco - every little helps.
Next step will be to add another £200-£250 worth next month, on the fixed deal date for £1.50 commission.
Hopefully keep adding a few more shares bit by bit.

Hi Robleo
I've no idea how low the SP may drop to, but I am happy to add at this current price for the long term.
It will lower my average costs slightly, but I am only adding about 15 shares to my existing 127.
Will add another couple hundred quids worth in August and September too and then hold for as long as necessary.
I have a target price to sell some at £25 if it gets back to that level. At the moment it looks terrible, but we all know it's a long term game unless you are day trader looking for fast returns.
GL - C
Oh well - another drop in the SP today - Mr Market certainly not friends with PSN these days.
Just reinforces my mind to take up the drip and also add another couple of quid to the kitty.
My ISA has a low commission (£1.50) purchase day on monday, so will use that to add a few more shares.
Only got 127 atm, but should add another 15 or so in the next few days.
Pound cost averaging works for me, and this will take my average cost down a little bit.
Will look forward to August to see how many more shares I can add.
Must not complain while SP keeps falling as allows lower cost additions. I know everyone wants higher SP for selling, but we just have to wait in the current climate. No doubt it will improve when we least expect it, as it is always the "end of the world coming".
One area that may be affecting us is the forthcoming end of Help to Buy, which has inflated house prices artificially for some time. You never know but there mat be another U-turn to reinstate it ?!
GLA - C
Thanks Robleo - nice to have the proper controller back in charge - only joking Dan.
A change from CSDI's usual gloomy prediction - I am going for 130p next week.
Well done to Scratch taking his first gold medal in the comp.
So with 26 weeks to go who will be the top tipster in 2022 - that may take a lot of effort on Rob's part to compile the medals table - he he he - wish I could show a smiley face on here
Cheers & GLA - C
Sorry Morry but that doesn ot make much sense.
I am with AJ Bell, and will use the DRIP next week.
Lets say I have 100 shares at the moment with 110p divi, would give me £110 in cash.
AJ Bell have a fee of £1.50 commission for DRIP.
Let's say the SP is £19 when they reinvest my divi.
I would get 5 more shares @ £19 = £95
Commission £1.50
Stamp duty £0.48
Total cost £96.98 for my 5 shares
would leave £13.02 over to remian in my cash account, assuming they will not allow fraction purchases.
Hope this helps
Cheers - C
Yes must agree. VOD had good day compared to the market drops.
My only share (PSN) is taking quite a kicking since I bought it at the start of March. Typical CSDI skill.
Have noticed one on my watchlist gone down a lot today - that is SUPR - normally a "steady-eddy" with a quarterly divi that pays around 4.5%-5% p.a.
GLA - C
The next question for me is whether to use the DRIP or not.
The divi is due for payment on 8th July, together with a Trading update.
if you use the DRIP scheme it is noramlly a couple of working days later that the shares are purchased.
At the moment I am planning to make use of the DRIP scheme, and will make my choice at the last possible minute.
Provided the SP is below my average (currently 2121p) then it seems to make sense.
Even if we have an unexpected jump that takes us above 2121, for me it makes no sense to leave in cash, as it is only a few quids worth anyway. It's near impossible to time the market, so putting in on a regular basis (month by month) should even things out.
Of course the clever traders will always try to time their purchases, but I am most definitely neither clever or a trader when it comes to shares LOL.
