On the "cash burn" question, another complication is the departure of our Farm-In partner on the Medway CCS project. Without the partner what is happening? Are all further scheduled project obligations halted whilst waiting for a new Farm-In partner or are we continuing with the planned work and now picking up the entire bill ourselves?

The "rumour" as you call it has been known now for weeks and next week's drill date confirmed earlier this week, so why will people be buying next week and not this? I cannot see the drill doing much for the sp at all, even if all goes well it is hardly a game changer - each drill will very add little on its own, it is the completion of all the 5 dev wells and "production" that will make a difference and that is some little way away yet..... all good news of course but not individually game changing.

Sprint Selan are paying our 50% contribution in lieu of paying us the same in cash. SYN gave them 50% of the project for that privilege and Selan withheld the cash and gave us "carry". If they had paid us the same in cash we would now be handing it over to pay our 50% obligation.

Thanks Burble, there are some quotes there that speak directly to some of the the issues and concerns that I have raised in recent days.

I am just suggesting that the $20m contribution to Cambay costs being contributed, in effect, by SYN, ought to be accounted for in that equation. Our 50% contribution doesn't come for free.

Oh and Sprint the "cost" associated with the Cambay development for SYN is $20m - we have $20 million of credit (carry) and it is a "real" cost but unfortunately totally committed to the Cambay project. If we had that $20m in cash and not as carry, our 50% contribution would have to be funded and would contribute to the P&L of the project.

So why change the PE ratio? That is a little convenient and arbitrary eh? What is the market sector average? That is the benchmark to be using.

Similarly with the Cambay FFD, development a forecast overhead of £2m seems a little undercooked; SYN will have to fund their part of the forward costs of any development programme. Yes, income would expect to be generated but with along lead times.

Sprint, I haven't checked your figures and trust them to be correct but two questions. Are those numbers calculated on 50% of the income or all of it? Secondly, PE ratio is calculated on profit not income; so how have you arrived at a profit figure?
