Johnny, you and the deramp gang sound really agitated.
What's up hun? C'mon. Tell us all why you're all so angry and huffy all the time.
Johnny, please show us on the doll exactly where Cine hurt you.
The derampers of today are lightweights compared to the real nasty scum we used to have when lockdowns started.
These days they are more like they've been given the child safe tools from a Fisher Price 'Baby's First Deramping Kit'.
Let them play in the sandpit for a bit whilst we wait for the big news due in the months of September and October.
Nothing much to say until then apart from commentary on the constant box office recovery and the gazillions of dollars that follows it into Cine's wallet. ;)
Evenin' all.
Of course Mooky's playing everything down and laying low.
Anything he says or is released that is any way showing positive things for Cine will be pounced on in court.
He's quiet. No RNS' and playing Cine down in public.
I wonder why??? Man might be old but he's wilier then the rest of us put together.
Awesome news.
As an aside, does anyone else keep getting big adverts on here saying INVEST IN SCOTCH WHISKEY?
Indeed, Mountainous.
I'll wager that that final destination is a slow, long yet inevitable return to profitability.
If Cine was to go, the lenders would've pulled the plug ages back. They're in this for the long haul the same as us.
I'll also wager that all the shorters will claim to have closed out at 21p when quizzed about it later. ;)
Forgive my ignorance as I'm not following anywhere near what I used to but (corrct me if I'm wrong) that the RCF / Regal stuff was pushed back to be swallowed up with Nisan's creative accounting?
We'll not hear anything until September?
Fair enough for being honest, Stork.
Nothing wrong with being short here as most ether pretend to be short or hide it for some reason Refreshing to see the honesty and a different take.
I just can't see a situation where the lenders will let this fail though.
Fair do's if it was a High Street retailer situation where the custom just wasn't there any more but the money is rolling in to cinemas and is likely to snowball as Hollywood continues to ramp up production and eventually return to pre-pandemic volume in it's number of releases.
Cine will just be waived through until such a time in my opinion.
All we can do is wait and see.
What's your target get out, Stork?
You're already well up.
Cine will get all the waivers it needs to see it through to health.
We've been getting them for years now. Nothing new.
Too close now to getting back to full normality to call it in.
Another few years and everyone gets their cash.
Only sticky patch is the court case in my eyes but even if the appeal judges uphold the nonsensical synergies payment, Cine will drag them back to London. But expect a hugely reduced payment from that in the end.
What price did you open your short at, Stork?
Incredible numbers, LPD.
Think Elvis will surprise and do very healthy numbers.
It was advertised before Top Gun and with the older demographic watching that, think a good fair few will want to return to watch Elvis with the big sound and big screen.
And on a personal note, I actually really like Elvis!!
Absolute classics.
Not been keeping up with the all the threads of late but with the box office from Top Gun, Jurassic, Batman etc, it's pretty much without doubt that studio execs realise that the big money is in making fun, escapist movies that don't force ideology or politics into the narrative and that have to be seen on the big screen.
Amazingly, people want to be entertained and taken out of their daily lives for a few hours.
Yes, we need 'filler movies', but the more the studios start releasing movies that get bums on seats and make actual money instead of approval from the Twitterati, the better for all of us.
Yup.
They've been here before and think they can now scare the latest investors off.
Typical stuff. Not invested but they're going to spend all day pointing out all the negatives ad inifitum. Because that's what normal people do with their lives, right?
And even IF the full payout is upheld at appeal, Cine will be dragging that back across the Atlantic for plex to wrangle with in the UK.
All the while, Cine stuffs the cash away.
If holders really want to listen to balanced opinion, there's plenty of obviously genuine posters on this board who already do that.
Top Gun has transcended generations.
Can only speak anecdotally but there's been members of my family who've not been to the cinema in ten years but who watched this AND loved it.
It's got them to understand how awesome the cinematic experience is and want to go again.
Survive til' '25.
Make money in the down markets.
See y'all in a few years.
Just got back from watching it and I still can't get the goofy grin off my face watching it.
Brilliant film.
Had a drink in the Cine bar afters and saw many, shall I say 'silver surfers' going to watch this which will hopefully give them the cinema bug back.
Saw it in IMAX and the sound there was unbelievable.
Gave me goosebumps.
Add in the shared experience, laughter in parts and emotional bonding and that should convince many that there's no way you'd get that experience at home.
Shake Cineplex off our backs and we're home free.
Do you read this stuff back to yourself?
Little money to be made for longs right now? And money to be made is a long way off?
Well, yeah - that's why they're long!
In fact, if people want to go long and believe in the company - then this price is the perfect time to make money for the future!! LMFAO!!!!
There's little money to be made for traders at the moment would be a better way of putting it but that doesn't suit your agenda now does it?
Unbelievable Jeff.
Wrong thread but you get the drift!
Due to the sheer obvious-ness of the K2 short and now all this, it wouldn't suprise me one bit if the plan was to make money off the share fall and buy back in before the appeal.
They appear to be that brazen and believe they are untouchable.
If there's any big buys followed by a decision in Cine's favour later this year, pound to a penny it's this lot playing us all.
It all stinks to high heaven.
Good read on it here.
