The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Very much so, Cruis - yes.
Yes, I've seen it.
Arthouse sci-fi is what I'd describe it as.
Definitely felt like a director using the full scope of sound and vision that can only by appreciated in a cinema.
It's one of those where watching at home on a 55inch TV would be a completely different experience.
Amazing how quickly those doctors can move to see people face to face when it's at the private practice.
What are other people's thoughts on this?
I'm thinking that a late reported shows as a buy.
A short closing/reducing maybe.
In reply to PrettyWild's observation: "I can't stop laughing. I've watched a few stocks over the year, but I wouldn't post my thoughts why I'm not buying... Very strange people we attract on this board. Haha."
It's simple. We attract them because they would love to invest in Cine becuase they see the bargain price but just do not have the MASSIVE BALLS that we all have to actually commit.
So it's a form of self assurance that they did the right thing by posting in here on bad days so they can walk away thinking that they've validated their choice to not ivest in Cine and that it's actually ok to have tiny, shrivelled prunes hiding away in their sad little sacks.
Yet, there's loads of us here that have been here through the darkest of dark times and seen all this crap before.
And we're still here because we know that each day that goes by is another day closer to this company getting back on top on again.
And then all the cowards who come on here to take pot shots will have to look in awe at us all swinging our thick, veiny and VERY girthy profits about all over the place wishing they was us.
Let 'em suck monkey butt.
Love and kisses, Crumpets xxx
Fame at last!!
Hi Alex, although maybe a good while away from a large scale acquisition, Netflix have bought cinemas and just recently acquired this: https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/business/story/2021-10-15/netflix-takes-over-bay-theater-at-carusos-palisades-village?_amp=true
As it says: 'Netflix will use the theater... to host special events, screen classic films and showcase its own original theatrical films.'
But can see them using cinemas for 'event' episodes of their TV series.
The Walking Dead has a huge following for example.
Fans would love to get together at cinemas for Season openings / finale episodes. Dress up, theme the place up.
Netflix could make a real meal out of that with tons of merchandise being sold and cross promotion with other properties they have etc.
It's pretty viable in my eyes but not on a large scale for at least a few years or so.
All in my opinion obvs.
Those are awesome figures, Forest.
The demand is there. Time to supply.
Saw the Spiderman trailer today and my 21 yo nephew was well hyped for it.
Keep these big hitters coming and get those cash registers signing. Or the card machines beeping.
Doesn't have the same ring (ho-ho) to it though!
Haha!
That wasn't you sat in our seats was it Lat?
Had to have that 'awkward conversation'!!
Yeah, our Cine here in Sheff is a monster!
But so heartening to see it and the adjoining restaurants on the park thriving.
People want to go out.
Great atmosphere in the Cine bar at the top as well, watching the huge queues for popcorn, nachos etc..
If this Cineworld is anything to go by then concessions and alcohol etc will be way up percentage-wise across the board when the next results are out.
The people are rabid for it!
14 million views now Bonkers and is also the #1 trending on YouTube.
2022 will be a massive year for movies ending with the finale that is Avatar 2. Which could well be a box office record. Imagine where we'll be if that record is indeed announced!
Just got back from Venom in Cine Sheffield and it was practically full.
If the U.S follows suit, we're cooking on gas.
I also really love Batman. :)
Trailer just out.
2 million views already.
When this comes out next spring we should be well on our way and will just cement the durability and money spinning potential of the cinematic experience.
As it says at the end: Only in theaters.

Bombdog knows the score.
Cineplex are fooked, Mountainous.
Just going through the motions now.
And that nobheed who's pretending he's Polish but suddenly posts in perfect sentences is just a Poundland Shorter Guy.
We've seen this all before and every single one of them fook off in the end.
Hold your ground.
Covid is over.
Cineplex will get fook all.
Awesome release schedule in the next 12 months.
TL:DR, we will not be at 70p this time next year.
Hold, hold, hold amigos.
My Antivirus blocks me from entering that site.
Bonus points for using the local vernacular of 'Meadowhell'!! Everyone says they hate it but everyone goes. ;)
But yeah, I've not seen anything like it at the cinema since the days of old when we had to wait outside!
If this gets replicated stateside, it's an undisputed knock out victory for the theatrical experience and gets audiences in our key markets back in the habit.
Great vibes.
@Sammy: Are you from Sheffield or just passing thru?
I literally live just minutes up the hill from the Cineworld there!!
Was at the IMAX screening at Sheffield last night.
The place was absolutely packed.
And I mean seriously rammed.
Every till point was open, queues going back to the entrance and a massive line snaking back to the escalators for the bar as well which was also rammed.
Also, noticed a lot more of the 'mature' crowd in so they will hopefully get the bug again and make it a habit.
Was going to take pictures and post links on here as it really was that crazy. Was more like a shopping mall at Christmas.
But decided against taking the photos as I would've looked like a right weirdo.
But ridiculously encouraging.
Even if we get half of what I saw yesterday for the rest of the 'big' releases yet to come, we're in a very healthy position.
Great film too.
Really wish there was a spoilers option on this site to discuss it!
It really is an awful film.
BUT it's worth a laugh and some popcorn.
What I'd really love to see though is some old classics replayed on the big screen like we did last year.
Aliens would be just awesome to see in a dark, loud cinema again and capture / scare the imaginations of a new generation of movie-goers.
I totally convinced a friend of mine to watch Malignant - she loves horror movies.
I told her I'd seen it and confessed that if it was on Netflix, I'd have fallen asleep but that the awesome sound at Cine Sheffield made me sit up and take notice.
She called me this eve to tell me it was the worst film she'd ever seen and needs to kick my fat ass.
I just laughed and said that I thought she'd like it.
Anyways; She took friends so that's a few extra pounds in the P&L!!!
