I know it's mostly me just waffling to myself but I'm not up to much else at the moment so :)....
What I ought to do is write up something around all the listed covid vax plays....
for instance, VBI from that article, went from $0.78 in March last year which is when the CEPI funding came in and spiked up to $6.17 by July and have since been dropping down to where they are today at $2.78 a current mcap of $706 million

And where I see Covidity fitting....

And yes CEPI route seems about the right fit....

BTW... yes the patent waiver is a negative however what it really means is the world needs more vaccines!
We know the mRNA ones are not going to be copied during the life of this pandemic... it is just practically impossible and I'd say Covidity falls in there too plus ours in theory will if it ever does arrive post pandemic as in it will be a booster variant protection vax.....
The pressure is now on and I'd say it is on those already winning the race to get more vaccines around the world well there are limits on how many mRNA ones you can practically make.

Again all just thoughts I expect BioNTech is super busy and not looking in that direction however the US GOV has made a signal and if you read what the wrote they have also said they will make the vax components more globally available too as up to now they have been protecting those for US first use.....

BioNTech expects the C19 pandemic to end by the middle of next year its vax playing a key part in that... then it would be down to testing, tracking, vax boosters and vaxs against variants or more attractively second-gen broader and longer protecting vaxs (Covidity)...BioNTech expects their vaxs to be mixed with other vaxs in dosing...

BioNTech have gotten themselves into a powerful global position being able to manufacture and distribute their expensive short shelf life with storage issues (but very effective and much desired) vax and they are also moving into China plus they now have significant profit funds too... yes they are already working on vaxs against variants but could it be in their interest to now get involved away from Pfizer the wolf in partnering a 'universal covid vax'... one developed by a friend no less! :)
BTW doubt they are concerned about patent waiver its vaccine requires 280 different materials and components that are sourced from 19 countries around the world and put together by elite artists!

I also think you cannot underestimate the importance and potential of using AvidiMab in Covidity... scancell get the chance to prove up a product that could be worth an absolute fortune

I missed Humiras predicted revenue that is $20.4 billion.... So a combined $82.3 billion
Humira is interesting with its 'patent thicket' Abbivie being very creative to keep that revenue from going to biosimilars...

If we just keep scratching those numbers off :)

In the predicted top 10 drug sellers of 2021, we have unsurprisingly 2 mRNA covid vaxs with Pfizer/Biontechs coming in number one with a whopping predicted $26 billions worth of sales and then in fourth spot Modernas at a predicted $18.4 billion but also in the top ten at number two Gilead's Humira that's a human MaB and in fifth spot but ever-rising no need to guess yes it is Merck's Keytruda also a human MaB coming in at a predicted $17.5 billion!

Kerwozzers scancells pipeline contains competition for and in combination with or enhancing products for all those.....

And I can't ever see Lindy and the Sally and the gang getting on a plane to Delhi to show an Indian company that has got a zillion $ US grant more than scancell has ever had in its existence how to knock out a Covidity,... just ain't going to happen :)

Well, the thing with manufacturing is you don't need to do a partnership deal with a pharma there if you look at what Sanofi is doing with modern and Pfizer etc... you basically do a manufacturing deal with a capable company such as Sanofi etc...

Its always good to look at what the other side of the argument are saying and I read about the patent waiver in the Indian Times which is obviously very pro waiver... They make it sound like they could just knock out a pfizer/moderna vax themselves for peanuts which is just not real world true ... its ok having the ingredients which are not all easy to come by and its ok to have a recipe but to put that all together and use the right cooking tools and even more importantly have the capable cooks is not like building a honda motorcycle out of coke cans.... moderna has already given up its vax IP .... no one has took it on... because no one can make it apart from modern and probably a few others who already have their own mRNA vaxs... Covidity falls into the same sphere of complexity as those vaxs ... they just cant copy it ... at least not in the time needed

They back vaxs at all stages so I see no hurdle there plus we do have ImmunoBody data and CEPI have form in backing DNA vaxs... novel certainly does not put them off ... in a world of mRNA success I see no problem there...other pluses have to be the whole Notts Uni team and facilities having COBRA secured with good relations and being UK based which is one of the most vax supporting and CEPI supporting nations ... so a lot of ticked boxes I'd say.... but of course no guarantees ... I'm not sure of the competition to be honest not looked into that but out of $200 million to give I'm sure scancell could do much with a slice of it plus the follow on support that would be given with vax progress on success....

It's my more ideal scenario to go the CEPI backed route ... I wonder with this week and the huge revenues announced by first gen winners and then the Biden IP scare... would a pharma partner be more attracted (size of the prize) or less to get involved

With Covidity -soon as possible- so who knows!... Krafty goes with the potential of an announcement on May 31st... ending of the CEPI call for next-gen broader protecting CV19 vaxs...possible but we should not hang a date onto that either we would have more an idea there once they do announce which projects they have chosen to fund... going off RG's decision to go from posting loads of CEPI to nothing I would think we have applied... but who knows!... we are surely closer to newsflow than we were last week though :)

I've read BioNTech expects revenues from its Covid vax for 2021 to come in at about $11.5 billion although likely it will be more as more orders come in.... India has now approved it etc....
So there you go gone from a big loss-making company to a big revenue and no doubts profit making Biotech mot bad considering its Uni spin-out roots eh... It is not sitting still though all systems go on all its pipeline now......

BTW means BioNTech will be doing very well too as I think they do 50/50 with Pfizer..... We know a place they could possibly invest some of their newfound actual income riches lol

The company announced how much it made from the vaccine on Tuesday.

Pfizer’s data shows it made $3.5bn in revenue during the first three months of 2021.

According to The New York Times, Pfizer said that the revenue accounted for nearly a quarter of its total revenue, making the vaccine by far the company's most lucrative product.'

Risk/Reward .... and why IP is so important because scancells vax is very much with the mRNA ones it is a potentially revolutionary and could both give a stronger more long-lived and broader protecting immune response and will be far cheaper both to produce and store......

No I don't see it going through but it had a negative effect... luckily scancell are just about a stage ahead of those who would really be affected by this IP threat meaning bio startups.-hey we have a great patented idea invest in us! ..... Investors at the very least need to be confident of IP protection..... Anyways no it won't happen it's just it getting POTUS support and making headlines causes ripples that even seem to have negatively tested little ol scancells sp at least temporarily but no main thing here is getting everything into trials which we all hope to hear news and of the positive kind soon as the failure to deliver there is what would really impact negatively here... Obviously, it is of importance to us here in IRR as it shows an appetite and maybe more importantly gives a valuation.... Any thoughts about it and what it could potentially value IRR in such a buyout ... though I'm not sure that is the way this is headed but adds excitement all the same and I expect it to give the treading around 20p sp a boost up.

'Ganfeng Lithium Co. Ltd. (002460.SZ) said it will buy out London-listed Mexican miner Bacanora Lithium PLC in a deal valued at up to 190 million pounds ($264 million), becoming China’s latest natural resource asset purchase to feed its booming demand for new-energy products.

Bacanora is mainly involved in the mining of lithium clay, which is one of the main sources of lithium that is used in many types of high-storage batteries. The company’s main asset is the Sonora project, which is among the world’s largest for the mining of lithium clays with estimated reserves of 8.82 million tons of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE).

Despite its potential, the project has yet to start production. Ganfeng said it hopes to speed up the project’s launch once the deal is completed, according to its announcement to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange on Thursday. It estimated the project will have capacity to produce 20,000 tons of lithium hydroxide annually in its first stage — equal to about a quarter of the company’s total lithium hydroxide output for 2020.
