This is something I’ve been looking into. Since honest Don ( as he’s labelled himself) trod into the Whitehouse. World markets have performed as such:

FTSE 100: 1.63%

DAX: 6.13%

NIKKEI: -0.78%

S&P: -0.56%

NASDAQ: 0.8%

Surprised how well this stood up today. Only 5 stocks in the FTSE faired better along side Asia sliding earlier.

Jumped in a little early last Jan but averaged down around the 6 mark. Always expected up to three years with this one. Happy to wait and fully expect a very decent return in that timescale. Steady as she goes….

The buyback was announced in early November. For €350m. The SP then was about £2.37. It’ll conclude whatever the share price is from day to day.

Jet 2 update not received well. Off about 10%. Figures don’t look to bad. Not sure if it’s the ‘borrow planes bit’ that’s caused the fall?

Looks like the whole sector shed a couple of a percent in the afternoon. Still looks the best day for a while against its peers?

Daily high here came at 16:28 on the button @ 29.98p.

My attention for the next few days has to be with that rollercoaster JW. Wild, 65p to 29 Friday. 29p to 21 Monday am. Decided it was worth a risky small punt at these ridiculous prices yesterday lunch. Volatile to say the least…

Morning John, I popped on earlier and IAG said he’d filtered his pal. Popped out, and to be honest I’ve had a risky small gamble on John Wood. So, there a bit. That’s even more painful. About 600 comments yesterday. Checked back in and all comments removed. Did it turn nastier than usual?

That was aimed at me, originally. The irony was, I wasn’t even comparing RR to IAG. I was using RR’s MCap before and after a RI as an example not to get bogged down by history, and potential future values.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. The share totals bought back over the days differ, but the total amounts to 300k per day. Day 1 was 21950 shares @ £13.666851 for £299,987. The process began in September and must conclude in May. That's around 161 trading days, but at 300k per day they will only get through £50 odd million unless something alters. I’ve not seen a buyback where they aggressively increase the buyback amount towards the end of the process. I just wandered if anybody could shed some light on the (apparent) shortfall?

The Programme is expected to commence today, 12 September 2024, and is expected to be completed no later than the Annual General Meeting to be held on 14 May 2025.

Hello Guys/Girls,

I was looking at the buyback program over the weekend. It appears VTY are buying back to the tune of 300m per day. As the program has to conclude by 14/05, at that rate, and if that rate continues, the total expenditure will be just shy of 50 million rather than the 130m initially stated? Any info on this please?
