Gave up aim years ago after needing some cash for a house deposit. Sold about 20k’s worth at 96p in an oily called xcite. Going to be the next big thing. Had loads of heavy oil in the North Sea. A month after I sold, they folded. I thought never again. What’s the point of chasing four or five bad ‘uns, to get one good one.

I now only invest in (this country anyway) FTSE 100 and the odd 250, shares only. The aim, an average return of 16.6%.

What would that do after 15 years?

Turn 100k into one million, I can live with a 900% profit over that time period. Well ahead of schedule too, (+27.84%) including the horrendous 2022.

Wait til he gets his one great big astonishingly beautiful bill (exaggerated) through. Then the US debt will be even more unattractive than it is now. Then, the bond/yield rates will, more than likely, have to rise to sell the debt. Then, they'll be paying even more to service the ever spiralling debt. Where will it all end? In fact, the only people buying the US debt now, are, the good ol' UK. We've bought about $600m in the last ten years or so. Now we 'own' about $780m worth. And there's all our uk governments telling the uk peoples how we need to tighten our belts. Maybe it's time for the UK governments to have a little think about things?

But anyone know what the schedule is for the buybacks?

Think this particular exercise (500m) concludes on, or no later than 12/9, so 6 months, as start date was 13/03. Quick look and I think they’ve repurchased 105.1m, so far

But, between them, they’ve offloaded nearly all shares at prices way below the current SP.

Hello Rob, with the buy sell price just prior to 4:30 at 224.8/ .7 you could say it’s ended on a daily high. I wonder if the BofA release on PHNX this am, (I’ve posted a link there!) might have helped here? I note BofA said they see value in LGen today also….

Very early trading. FTSE has given up most of the opening uptick. Oil up in commodities, understandably. IAG right up there in the top three of risers so far. Let’s see how the day pans out. Early encouraging signs though
