Agreed Henry - I'm more tempted to top up today than I was yesterday. The end value may be less than the speculation had it but right now it still seems cheap. And it's cheap just because of the unknowable - now, as I see it, the unknowable is ever so slightly more knowable.
It seems Samsung are the powerhouse and are imposing their will on Nanoco. Nanoco are certainly going to gain from it but Samsung will gain more. A bird in the hand and all that. But the stay of proceedings on the basis of the term sheet is still precarious. This is factored into the share price. It could still go to trial if the settlement isn't agreed.
I hope Agronomics' next significant investment is in Ivy Farms. They are going great guns in the UK. Anthony Chow in the latest Times article https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/b6206a4a-7fba-11ed-9a00-7947c795d124?shareToken=9a4072e58163e8f107baa322f4964ee0 predicts lab grown meat will be on sale in UK restaurants by 2024. That would surely mean regulatory approval this year. I suspect this year will be a big one for the industry.
Nanoco only needed to wait a week or so to find out how much they would get. The compromise isn't a time issue. Samsung knew they were going to lose and they wanted to save face and cut negative publicity - the court reporters would have held them out to dry for the whole world to see - the judge would have called them out on their corporate actions - all in the public sphere. Nanoco didn't need to compromise - they had time and money - they wouldn't have done - it's nonsense.
This journalist, Tom Howard just isn't up to much and doesn't realise that he can't put opinion into anything, even so very subtly like this. He's written it quickly so that he gets the £250 for the piece before anyone else and hasn't been careful. I know how it works. The idea that he knows anything at all is turd shandy.
I'm very interested to know what the value is - not just for my own financial gain but out of genuine criosity. I used to negotiate contracts in my old job and I understand the weight of responsibility on the lawyers is immense. The numbers are all agreed clearly just the wording to go over with a fine tooth comb. I suspect the details will be completed within a week and announced. The longer they leave it the more likely it is to leak.
You don't announce a settlement unless the terms are agreed. It's like blowing the whistle to start a football match before the players are on the pitch.
