FH - because you clearly know so much about the outcome of this settlement I suggest you write a book about it. My suggestion for a title - "Everything I know before it happens." I expect it'll be a very very long book.
It's so delicate though. We mustn't shout about it too loudly.
Never trust anyone who tells you they have no regrets. They are at best delusional and at worse a liar. Either they believe every choice they've ever made in life has been the right one or they are unable to accept their mistakes - either way stay clear of trying to get any sense out of them. Because even with all the facts we need there in front of us we still make mistakes. That's just human nature.
If LOAM had any insider information this share price would be going much quicker in one direction or the other. Not just because they'd be selling or buying but because whoever else it leaked to would be selling or buying. The fact that it is staying realtively stable means no leak has occurred. That, to me at least, is reassuring.
"The day you sell is reasonably certain to mark the end of the decline, because you are not the only one who was finally scared into selling. You, being an average man, were merely representative." Fred Kelly (whoever he is)
Human beings are hard wired to fear and anxiety. For many thousands of years we were the prey and were constantly on guard looking out for our next danger, watching and waiting for any clue and to where that new danger might come from. Then we retreat into a state of despair and hide away in our caves shouting and waving our fire about. That's happening now - it's the fright instinct but without clubs and sabre tooth tigers.
I've learned a lot from this board about human behaviour, about how the beast can eat itself from not knowing. People pursuade themselves of doom when the absolute is removed. If it might not be glory then it must be death. People are roused up into a state of exhaltation and then dropped deep into a state of dispair - like the gospel priests reading his sermon. In the state of exhaltation anything is possible - billions and billions in settlement - I can retire and buy a yacht. In the state od despair there is no hope and we are all doomed to destitution. Look at yourselves ;-)
This board is a typical example of people trying to fill the empty space where knowledge isn't present. We cannot accept not knowing. This is why we invented god so that anything we don't know we just say - god done it.
We can't abide the vacuum of ignorance but sometimes we'd do well to just say - I don't know - let's wait and see.
Is that Believer Meats based in Israel - in the town Rohovot - where I lived on a kibbtz in 1992.
