A portfolio in itself with copper, silver, zinc, gold, rare earths/phosphate and now lithium.
Pure lithium plays such as IronRidge (now Atlantic Lithium) having divested/demerged their gold assets have done rather well since a 7p/sh raising not so long ago. Bradda Head IPO'd in July last year and at one point, has more than trebled in value.
Kamativi Lithium Project (Sinamatella) is situated adjacent to and along strike from the Kamativi Tin/Tantalum Mine. From a recent discovery within the tailings, lithium is also present.
Bearing in mind they were mining for tin with no interest in lithium, Chimata drilled the mine tailings extensively 70% of which is spodumene for a resource estimate of 26mt @ 0.58% Li 2o (range 0.29% - 1.13% Li2o). Using a Heavy Liquid Separation process, concentrate of 96% spodumene (6.68% Li2o) was produced for a saleable product.
The Sinamatella Exclusive Prospecting Order (EPO) of 520 sq km also has a redundant copper mine with other copper showings purporting to be of VMS type or style. Mapping and soil sampling is underway with a view to early drill testing.
Zimbabwe is the 5th largest producer of the metal in the world. The Government has listed lithium as a key material to drive the industry from US$3.6B today, to US$12B in 2023. The country has seen next to zero greenfield exploration since the 1980's. A framework of EPO's (maximum 650 sq km) depicting each mineral is 80% complete and a Mining Cadastre (Trimble) is under construction.
EPO 1782 was granted in March'21 to Sinamatella, a subsidiary of BVC. Geoquest, the Geological Consultants are based in Lusaka with representation in the DRC and Zimbabwe, established in 2000 and have knowledge of the locality. Cordoba were the financial backers, I assume.
A deal or venture sometime in the making, where Galileo appeared on the scene at 'the right time and right place' imo.
