Interesting idea hunniford, one company to single handedly turn this whole sector around but eventually that's all it will take with the share price maintaining momentum and not remaining the preserve of the day trader. The last mining cycle peaked in 2011, almost 13 years ago, who can remember that far back and know what this sector, when functioning properly, is capable of. As they say, 'what goes around comes around' and it won't be before time. Roll on Christmas.

From an earlier posting highlighting an article from Kitco dated 9th Oct'23 titled,

Technical indicators show a bottom may be in for Gold and the junior miners.

" multiple technical indicators are showing a bottom is in or a very near for Gold and the junior equities. The relative strength index (RSI) for Gold is currently at 21. This level has only been seen seven times over the past decade. Gold returned 10% on average over the next 78 days each time the RSI hit this level. This implies a Gold price of $2000 towards the end of the year. The ratio of the VanEck Vectors Junior Gold Miners EFT (GDXJ) is also near a low set only three times since 2013 with the following rallies averaging a 95% return over the next 78 days.

The article could now be proving it's worth and be the inflection point this junior gold sector is waiting for.

Had a look at the technicals, both 50 and 200 day averages are both rising with lower resistance at $1967, and a target of $2068 before the end of the year. Other analysts may have differing views.

US$2004

Appears to be bouncing off US2000 resistance. A bit premature to prove the case.

From the macro perspective and not the technical, there is a lot of uncertainty out there at this time. Opposing views on maintaining or increasing interest rates to counter inflation whilst holding or reducing interest rates, introduce more QE (money printing) to stimulate the economy and stave off the impending recession which in turn would increase inflation are just for starters. Geopolitics, wars, record gold buying by Central Banks particularly Russia, China and the more Eastern countries in the world. Hedgefunds are bullish on the metal and are going long. It all adds to the mix.

US$2000

$2007 earlier this afternoon. Outlook for gold and the gold sector in general are beginning to shape up at long last.

Quality marketing is another expense.

No reference to any individual, a generalisation over the past 2-3 years. The company turned a long awaited corner today and not wanting history to repeat itself, I thought I'd mention it once again.

Great news for Bibemi and Mbe, one licence of ten (incl application) of the CLP and believe there is more to come. In Canada, the significance of orogenic gold deposits is well known. Globally, they account for around 2.7B ozs, or 30% of known gold and in Canada 80% of gold comes from this type of deposit, the Abitibi region is an example, contributing over 180M ozs. Needless to say, the Canadians are well versed here. As posted previously, Oriole has around 75 km of the TBSZ being highly prospective for this style of mineralisation. Opportunity not to be missed imo.

A share/stock/company that has been routinely beaten-up/trashed for years on this board by those, some of which profess to hold tens of millions of shares in this company, it might be easier to define the length of a piece of string than to determine a realistic valuation at this time.

The upside is however, this is the last chance to buy-in at these levels.

Exactly. A no funding scenario was in the price.

It will be interesting to see what Share Talk (Zak Mir) and the BB Hero's make of this. 0.014 target from last week already surpassed. The broker has re-rated to $19M today on a 'transformational deal.'

A phenomenal deal with a well respected partner in poor market conditions. Excellent.

Like it. One of the better JV's where both parties contribute, on a shared basis, their expertise towards a common goal of resource expansion. BCM fund the exploration and development earning-in to 50% of the licence area and Oriole receive success payments (cash) along the way.

With both agreements signed-off, Oriole pick-up $1.5M. One million ounces at Bibemi, a realistic target in the short term for another $1M, sets Oriole well for further licence development at the CLP.

Three cheers for the BoD, hip, hip........

Should Gold rise above $2000 and stay there, will undoubtedly improve the outlook for the junior gold explorer/mining sector.

US$1993. Up 0.53% already today.

Friday. Could there be another attempt on $2000 today in anticipation of developments over the weekend? Goldman Sach said interest rates could be reduced as early as Feb'24 and Treasury yields have declined. Recession next year? All good for Gold.

Investment coming into the region. Anything from US$300M to US$1B over five years at the last count. Could be more.

ZCCM are about to make an announcement of developments affecting the company. Mopani sale?

Had another look at a video for New Found Gold's Queensway Gold Project in Newfoundland. The main speaker was Eric Sprott, a major shareholder in the company. A fan of orogenic gold type deposits, he highlights the increased prospectivity for this style of mineralisation and more.

The CLP in Cameroon, is a district scale land package prospective for a range of commodities including orogenic style gold along approximately 75 km of the Tchollire-Banyo Shear Zone (TBSZ), a major splay off the larger scale Central African Shear Zone.

Worth watching for some insight into the possibilities on offer here.

Reflects on this past mining cycle, the difficulties in finding finance to support the junior explorers, and the general outlook going forward. Canada specific but applicable worldwide imo.

Below is an extract from the article which may be of relevance to Oriole.

'Of the mainstays, gold has the most appeal right now because the price of bullion is still hovering around $2000 per ounce, higher even than the heydays of the commodity supercycle. It is also a relatively simple metal. There is a limited array of deposits around the world, and the means of processing haven't changed in 25 years. Investors who know gold can still feel comfortable with it, which is why junior gold explorers are the most likely to get financing in Canada.

Far from it. Gold as a 'safe haven' is as popular now as it has ever been. Hence why major investment banks, analysts, forecasters are all quoting $2100+ for next year. The reason the October rally (+$200) has stalled is the Fed have reasserted a further interest hike is still possible. They are not convinced inflation is under control which has boosted yields. The tipping point, once past, gold will be back on course for another attempt at $2000.
