After the Federal Reserve has left interest rates unchanged for the second time, it's thought monetary policy is no longer a threat to the gold market. The biggest factor supporting the gold price is now Central Bank demand.

As of the end of the third quarter, Central Banks have purchased 800 tonnes of gold. The WGC said buying this year may even surpass last years record. Add in the growing economic uncertainty and geopolitical instability and golds safe haven attraction, it can't be long therefore, before gold breaks through the $2000 major technical resistance and sets a new level. Gold consistently above $2000 will create a new landscape, address and improve sentiment and maybe get this junior gold sector moving again.

Gold is still knocking on the $2000 door. $2006 last Friday and staying above resistance of $1960, predictions are for $2050 this or next week.

Further to the current state of the junior mining sector, the Toronto Stock Exchange, Canada's largest, has completed just one IPO this year, being the first time this has happened since 1993. Lithium Royalty Corp raised $108m in March on their debut and have dropped 37% since that time. However, the Exchange are saying equity financing will pick-up next year with as many as 1500 prospects in the pipeline. Roll-on next year.

Chinese Zijin and Norinco are out of the process leaving only Sibanye-Stillwater and a new entrant Abu Dhabi's International Holdings Co (IHC). Saudi Arabia continues it's search to diversify beyond fossil fuels into metals and the mining industry.

The final piece to this jig-saw puzzle is the Mopani sale to a new owner imo. Once in place, the whole picture will be revealed. Who's involved, where is it going to happen, how is it going to be achieved along with all the necessary permitting.

The site strip is an upfront cost before any revenue and will need to be paid for. An off-take agreement is a likely solution.

The sale is scheduled for completion this month (October) but like all things in mining........

Bought a few more of late to increase stake. Averaging down isn't a concern as I didn't buy-in at the price spike, haven't ranted or raved, I mean vented myself here half a dozen times or more most days for the last 3 years over the decreasing share price and what it means to me.
