The sector is and may stay out of fashion for a while , just like the tobacco industry did. The market cannot ignore returns via dividend forever(when they materialise). Oil will be the driver for many a year yet , the third world will make sure of that.

I read these boards every day and appreciate the comments of the more knowledgable and better researched individuals , these comments keep me interested and hopeful , otherwise it really is a pile of dung. Hopefully they will see the predicament we are in and give the company a kick in the butt wth a share buyback , but I won't hold my breath because it doesn't seem likely. I hope the other option of the takeover arrives in the meantime , we really do need something to kick this into life because the spins are in control , and have been for a long time. marieville you said the same when the bid was over 4p , you said then that the person was 2p too late. Wrong wrong wrong , it dipped into the 2's today on the bid and I can see it going lower still. It's all well and good tapping the market for cash , but without sales this company will just keep running out of cash. Where are the sales? It should be steady stream of news re -sales if this is to survive. The odd one here and there won't cut it , what's going on? If they can't sell this now , why would they have any more success in the future? Dirty water needs cleaning 50 years ago.

Aye...the problem is they will probably bounce , will we? With drills results due in the weeks ahead I doubt it somehow. This is a bashers stock at the moment , can't see any light other than an ocean of oil to possibly move it forward. Those 2billion shares in circulation need reducing big style , a share consolidation would help , then a buy back could be a catalyst for better times ahead.
