Let's see how successful it is today.

Excellent news. I was particularly drawn to the line "The company has out-competed several billion-dollar competitors to win multi-million-dollar contracts, has achieved consistent double-digit month on month growth...". With monthly growth exceeding 10%, that equates to more than a tripling of revenue every year.

That's quite a healthy vote of confidence in the business.

I think we can look forward to some form of distribution in the next 12 months. My guess is that it will be a further buyback.

Based on a management's central estimate for FY26 and an EBITDA multiple of 6-8x (plus cash) this would be trading at 106-124p

I'll reserve judgement until I can see some of the detail behind the headlines. Revenue broadly as expected, cash generation looks good but earnings not so good. Still, by my rough calculation we have around 32p of cash in the current SP so pretty relaxed till I see the presentation.

I don't find the financials all that constructive. Assets only get disclosed as a fairly amorphous blob and there's very little information that I can glean on what each company is worth which makes it particularly tricky understanding the impact of fund raising by investee companies when all we see are the amounts raised and the end of year holding of FIPP.

Can anyone else make more sense out of the asset side of the results?

Now now Finley. Surely a wise person with "very limited" intelligence would welcome the help of a machine in coming to a decision. Particularly now that AI seems to have established that LGEN is not using debt to pay dividends.

....or is it just that the LGEN Investor Relations team that have been teaching the AI to respond to these questions.

You often find that the SP for dividend-cutting companies do quite well after the announcement (and perhaps even in the run-up to the announcement). You may see a few dividend seekers jumping ship afterwards but they'll be replaced by those looking for growth. For me the DY is nice but I'll measure this on PE and it feels a bit too low right now....so I added a few earlier.

And here we are again on the eve of results. Still no sign that the SP is getting close enough to fair value but lets see what cash they are generating for another potential share buyback.

I decided to add a few today as the SP was showing signs of turning. It might be just a small bounce before the next drop but it's still cheap so there was an element of FOMO in the purchase.

This particular line isn't doing the SP any favours:

"Based on the above, this indicates the existence of a material uncertainty which may cast significant doubt over the Group and Company's ability to continue as a going concern and managements plan to deal with these events or conditions...."

This is part of the audit opinion that is used to justify a going-concern valuation (ie assets may not be worth a "fair-value" if they have to be sold to raise cash).

Now this is more like it. Let's first get this back above 250p, then we can discuss where it goes next.

Possibly the story from Kalan that JLP had a number of new "junior apprenticeship" job vacancies.

A maybe a surprise share buyback announcement imminent!! Now that would throw the cat among the pigeons.

I've seen this in other places and never got a reply when I asked IR for some explanation. Suspect behaviour and almost certainly illegal but unless the company, FCA or LSE want to do something about it, nothing will change. Of course we can't really be sure.

So I'll take the positive view that we have some good news on the way. And I can even be smug about adding some more just before the SP hit bottom.

Selling shares at a loss just because it's Christmas is certainly irrational but if there are people out there investing in JOG and short of cash, I for one would be happy to relieve them of a few cheap shares.

As for Buchan, the uncertainty is and has always been there. With regard to the probability/risk, that barely shifted from the latest tax proposals.

It will almost certainly drop down to those levels again if there aren't any buyers which creates a little dilemma for those looking to add - amongst which I include myself. You don't really want to be missing these sorts of bargain prices (views will differ on what the share is really worth) but at the same time you don't want to pay more than you have to. I think I'll probably settle for somewhere in the low 80's as the first next top up point then see where it goes from there.

As for EPL, well it doesn't really matter here because of the timelines involved.

I'd say it's still a good buy although I topped up last week so won't be adding again until I've offloaded that tranche.
