Another point worth noting is that KDD012 drilled a near surface band of high grade mineralisation that was over 3% Cu eq. If you look at where this is on the map it’s closer to the stockpile / old mine than the other drill holes. Without stating the obvious but ARCM are probably following this band of high grade mineralisation North, and surprise look where we end up!

ARCM tweeted yesterday that they are "moving North" with the RC drill rig. There is clearly something of interest up there (otherwise why bother) and that's why they've dropped the massive hint via. Twitter...

Hi Beginner, I don't believe we've seen the drilling results for this area yet ie. the old open pit that was mined for several years. I believe this open pit is near the stockpile (see map on ARCM website) and we haven't received those drill results yet. Probably the next RNS? I did wonder why everyone was so quick to sell out before we even got to this old mine area?! Trigger happy punters...

Westie, good question. I think we are probably looking at an open pit operation at Kabala that will mine the near surface material (let's say 500kt - 1MT of contained near surface copper at grades of 0.5% to 1.5% Cu eq.) which in itself should be an economic mine as it is just a question of processing surface material. As we go North and underground we may find higher grades (no point speculating at this point) but requires underground mining. Underground mining is OK is we have already spent the money to build a plant to process the ore for the open pit. So actually underground can be economic even at lower grades simply because we've already built the infrastructure for the open pit. I'm not expecting Ivanhoe grades ie. 5% Cu eq+, but some of that stuff is 900m underground.

CB, one thing I would say about copper exploration is that we will find zones of high grade and low grade mineralisation, it’s never uniform. I suspect we will see some high grade intersections where the rock has been subject to high metamorphism, and this more likely will have occurred at depth as there is more pressure and heat at depth. That’s why I’m so interested in the mineralisation going North as it may be better formed than the material we have drilled so far near surface. We will know soon enough,

First Quantum drilled Sentinel during the rainy season. They only stopped for Jan and Feb when it got too muddy.

Agree with all the posts below. NvS is a corporate guy and doing deals is in his comfort zone. I see at least one, if not two deals, being done over the next few weeks to the benefit of ARCM shareholders. If I had to guess, a farm-in deal on his non Kabala exploration licences will come first with a big mining house.

Rio Tinto Ventures have been bidding on exploration projects held by small cap mining companies. Zijin is in asset grab mode, so spending US$10m drilling ARCM licences is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Lundin Mining is also an obvious partner. They tried to buy Nevsun and failed. They will be looking for another acquisition...

ARCM will sign up an exploration partner. Apparently there are 2 mining companies looking to be JV partners on the exploration. I reckon Rio Tinto (Don Bailey) and Zijin Mining (Ivanhoe) are the obvious suitors. I'm willing to bet we see this RNS sooner rather than later. The share price is depressing to look at but it will turnaround in due course.

Thanks Dcat re approval of my resource calc. I think the market has missed a trick here. 400kt of contained Cu is very valuable and it’s at/near surface so economic. If FQM can mine and process lower grades in Zambia and make a good profit, so can ARCM. So when will our 400kt+ Cu-Co resource be reflected in the share price?

I think a JV deal or M&A on CASA, Sturec or yet to be drilled Zambia licences will kick off the share price re-rating that we are all looking for. The market doesn’t seem interested in drilling results. We will get more drilling results next week and copper / cobalt resource in the ground will go up. That much is certain. I’m looking for 1MT of contained copper by the end of November. This is worth good money and certainly much higher than the current market cap.

As a rule of thumb a copper explorer needs to find at least 750kt to 1mt of contained copper before they are at risk of being taken out by a larger mining company. I think ARCM will get there as we are still open going North and West. This investment is M&A and JV heaven as far as I am concerned. I'm just going to sit here and will wait to be paid.

A busy day for ARCM info. NvS Proactive interview highlights some key M&A initiatives underway:

- two mining companies have signed NDAs with ARCM re. exploration JVs over Zambia licence areas yet to be drilled
- CASA will either be a JV or sale. A Chinese group and a Canadian outfit are currently in discussions with ARCM
- Slovakia has 4 interested parties

I think we are in the region of 400kt to 500kt of contained copper equivalent which should be converted into a JORC resource soon, with plenty more upside on the way.

600m x 500m x 70m (avg. depth), density 2.5t / cubic metre (SP Angel's estimate), so 21m cubic metres x 2.5 = 52.5mt. Assuming an average grade of 0.8% Cu eq. (a rough guess as we have higher grade zones), so we have 52.5mt x 0.8% = 420,000 Cu eq. (contained).

This is worth about US$2.5bn at today's copper price. Definitely worth building a mine!
