Customer trust is gone up, renewed contracts with freebies for customers and longer contracts for talktalk locking them in. Dividend increased by 15% and further increases in 2017. Do any of you remember the kind of prices BT charged before Talktalk?
Fruitster, bertram, and jack, et al. Agreed, Just to add, I consider shorters here as investor's best friend as they run for cover and become forced buyers to cover their shorts once the newsflow has turned positive. lol Lets hope tsco are not a drag. ATB
Hi all, at last some good news. Everything looking good and the debt is being decimated. ATB
Hi jack thanks for the post, you are absolutely right. Well-done for being out when you did. I couldn't bring myself to get out at that time, as my average is little shy of £2.30, when it crashed from £3.00. If poor performance continues then maybe some sort of shareholder action group maybe needed. Speaking of ex TSCO the serious fraud office is till looking at evidence, last I heard.
Hi everyone, very disappointed about the demotion from ftse-100. Can anyone tell me why Pots was brought in? Seems he is now a 3 times a loser, no one else is to blame but him and current bod for this demotion, not that he's ftse-100 material anyhow. The question is in-line with this demotion should the bod now also get reduced pay? As they are no longer running ftse-100 company and the pay should reflect this? I also think we will not see mrw back in for a very long time, if at all.
One of the things I thought was lacking in the report was about adapting new technologies with the business, the thing that will impress me is if Potts has in mind a business to rival Ocado, not only for Morrsons but also for other clients, including other country's. If what I think Potts is planning, which has Ocado's worried, all I can say is wow! and fill your boots never to see these levels again. I suggest using smart IOT energy efficient MIPS processors with open source software which would cost a fraction of what is being paid now, it's never to late to go it alone, without buying or using others technology. While Morrisons may be be forced to get Ocado to provide it's services on some parts of the country as agreed, no one can make deal to prevent Morrisons from running a business simultaneously in other parts of the UK, and other country's. Ocado does not have monopoly, and Morrisons can make a legal challenge, maybe get an independent arbitration if the contract is unfair. another idea is mrw can provide online shopping and customers simply going in the store and collecting the goods where staff has picked the goods and can be quickly collected from a collection point free of delivery charges. This can change the dinamics of shopping in the UK. All the best.
Thanks Jimbo1122, I was thinking the same, but didn't have time to write all that. Also to add to it, don't make it as if the last CEO did something now it has to be undone for the sake of it, if something is workable then make it work. And dropping prices won't help, If customers who want to go to discounters will do so regardless, as that's the image they have, but instead Morrisons should show value and quality at an affordable price, i.e 7 days old pale green salad with bugs from Aldi, Lidl, or Fresh green full of nutrients from Morrisons. Anyhow ATB to everyone, and lets hope we see better share price or if it gets taken over hope it's not given away.
Something doesn't smell right, I'll wait until after the results, before commenting further.
Anything less than £2.50 is a theft, Morrison is way oversold and will come good in due time, for the long term it may be better not to be sold.
Thanks Fruitster, had look and lets hope so. ATB for the 10th.
Hi everyone. Dalton Philips can't be blamed forever, these guys have been running it for over 6 months, can't say the market has been impressed thus far, what are the expectations for the results? ASBURYJUKES, thanks for heads-up for northern business, though am not in it yet, hope to get in sometimes. P.S is there a decent irc channel for shares? ATB
Hi jack hope you've not jumped a little early, ATB http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-33252137
SLOWER and TARGETED pace. Not the old 300 last ceo had in place.
Nonsense nobody is taking lunch, Morrisons has been expanding in the north too, only at slower and targeted pace. every store has been very very busy since the introduction of M&M card and price drops, only the loss making stores in the middle of nowhere are being closed. Only reason the Germans are doing better in the north is because it's cheaper and easier to open with living costs low and cheap land to build. I hope this addresses some of your misconception.
I call it lol day, you know you they gona get some priceless reply's from well-informed people here. Anyhow bertram You've said everything that needs to be said, magic ignore button is great. Crispyduck, where did the 44b of assets come from? I don't think even Tesco know how much assets they have, and with the accounts fraud still being investigated, and it's no good if those assets can't help you service your debt. If only tsco holders paid more attentions to it's own rather than mrw bb. Furitser agreed but to add, it's quite easy to lump mrw to big 4 but, but whats being ignored mrw is also like the German discounters is a part discounter and still has room to expand in some parts. ATB everyone.
Thanks bertram, have a nice one, my divi like Fruitster is getting reinvested. lol
bertram, thanks for reminding me about mrw expansion program in the south which adds to tsco's problems, not only the Germans are moving in the but mrw as well.
Hi bertram, lol, you are right, and on second thought don't think even mrw can fill tsco holes that large, happy to wait for mrw turnaround. Opium, you are confused, it was the ex ceo who actually started implementing the strategy of store closures, but I guess substance abuse can confuse from facts and set in delusions. To each his own, but at least you won't see us going tsco bb and posting confused misinformation. So far pot's has taken right steps, but it will be until interim before we see what kinds of effect that is having. I hope he can bring shareholder valve by then, or else we might see all three ex tsco as ex mrw too. ATB to everyone who holds.
And if you think a business can be broken down and bits sold for more profit, shows that it's trading less than it's worth.
Hi Opium, I see you are till around and still not invested here· What's short of bean is when someone is obsessed in making posts in bb with no interest either short or long, and not being able to see the bigger picture. It's not out of realm of possibility for one of big to merge to combat the Germans, but that's beyond your understanding. If anyone who is running a monopoly it's the Germans, with no accountability, and no one knows how much tax evasion they are doing and government needs to introduce a law to make them pay fair share of taxes. Closing the stores is not the answer when LADS as you like to call them are opening more, and mrw has already taken actions to close none profitable stores. P.S what going to happen to tsco if the interest rate goes up? LOL
